In 2020, I responded to an on line advertisement from Tax Group Center offering tax relief assistance. I contacted them to help with consolidating back taxes and negotiating with the *** regarding the amount owed and penalty fees. The representative assured me that my case would be straightforward and could be completed within a years time. I paid a fee of about $3200.After submitting all documents, there was no communication from them. In August of 2021, I was asked asked to pay an additional fee to file my 2021 taxes, with the promise that it would be advantageous for me. The representative used misleading language, framing it as a choice between paying Tax Group Center $1500 (to file taxes) or owing the *** approximately $5000. After filing 2021 taxes, communication from Tax Group Center ceased. Upon inquiry in the fall of 2022, I was told by *********************, case manager, that the *** was behindthis was the second time he used this excuse. The situation worsened during the 2022 tax filing when I encountered *******************************, who charged me $6500 for services I had already paid for with unsatisfactory results. She promised a refund check and a write-off of fees with the 2022 tax return. The promised refund check never materialized, and Tax Group Center failed to resolve my case as promised. I called them in July 2023 to ask them, again, what was happening to my case. They told me ********************* was on medical leave, and my case will be transferred to another representative who sent it to the *** without negotiation. They informed me of my monthly payment for the next five years and, after two months, advised me to complete the penalty abatement forms myself, as they had closed my case. Given the lack of competence and failure to fulfill their contractual obligations in a timely manner, I am seeking compensation for the inconvenience and additional financial burden caused by Tax Group Center's actions. In total, I paid Tax Group Center a total of $11,200.
