I am disputing this charge because the company DID NOT obtain my authorization to charge my credit card and DID NOT provide us with an estimate or explanation of the complete work prior to starting the job on 10/06/2023. The only estimate I received was a verbal amount from the technician on 09/29/2023 when the initial inspection was completed on 09/29/2023 of $1075. It was my understanding that this amount covered all the work. On 09/29/2023, I asked the technician to email me a copy of the estimate when she told it to me. She said she would get permission from her boss and send it. I never received an email with the estimate. I called and spoke to the office manager on 10/02/2023 at 3:41pm and also asked her to send me a copy of the estimate. She said she would. I did not receive an estimate or contract prior to 10/06/2023, when part of the work was done.Business Response

Thank you for sending this information. We sent an email to him to discuss the services he requested and the work that was done.
The customer called in for a rodent inspection on 9/28 as he was seeing tunneling going under his foundation.
He said he didn't hear noises he wanted to send in a photo of what he saw.
We scheduled for the inspection for $99.00 the next day on 9/29. the inspectors' notes are as follows from her original paperwork this for the office only to determine time and materials before we speak to the customer.
Inspectors' notes.
Attic is clear so far but i will recheck it we i come back to do the work no tunneling or rodent valleys Squirrels going under stone no tunneling into the crawlspace They would like me to just do a slab on top of the dirt area About 2ft wide and about *****ft long No screening They will also like me to remove the extra dirt i told them that it will be a dump fee and they are okay with that 3-5 hours 950 125 materials ***** Cs has old f**** but they heard a noise with the hvac machine. Cs cleaning Exterior sealing 2 vents and siding in the garage 2-3 hours 499 no cement *************************************** the cs i seen old f**** and only 2 that was suspicious but the f**** are covered in spider webs the f**** make one trail to a vent with holes that connect/ separate the garage to the cs The garage is clear from rodent activity and the hole in the vent has many spider weds covering it there also is a vent outside that is torn but it is not noticeable without touching it They also had work done in there front yard they did new cement work The idea for the cs is to clean the f**** up and screen off the w vents and we can monitor that I also did check the attic it
He was sent this original paperwork from the day of the inspection and he called in requesting to do the work.
I went over the notes as I am the only one that books jobs.
I did pricing and what we would be doing.
He had the original paperwork as she sent it it him the one, I uploaded to him only gives Tech Comments
Cement work ****** repairs + materials ******= 1075.00
Rodent work ****** with the cement work. (599 f we do not do the cement work)
Scheduled for Friday **** arrival.
This is where I made the mistake in billing. I added the the $499 + $599 to the cement work of $1075 = ******* and I included a trap check for him usually $****** service call for the difference to an even
$2200.00.
Now I did not know that I made a mistake (or I wouldn't have done it) But he did request the rodent work and the cement work to be done as listed on
his invoice.
We confirmed the time, and we scheduled 3 techs to do the work.
2 for cement and 1 for the rodent work which should have been a total of $1574.00
He then calls in and complains that she didn't make a sidewalk and that it wasn't the same height as his current sidewalk.
I went through that conversation with him, this is not a sidewalk it is a cement slab to stop squirrels and rats at some point from going under.
Then I get a call that he didn't approve the other work, and he was going to write BBB, Yelp and everything else. He did reach out to the credit card company, and he cancelled the payment except the $1074.00 so he did not pay for the work done, he is not owed any refunds.
We did confirm that the credit card company has reverse the charges from our account.
We did the work that was listed a total of $1574.00 and he has only paid $1074.00. We have an outstanding balance due us that we will never get because he looked for.
a reason to not pay us from the very beginning. I told him I am going to file against him since he does not have the right to have us do the work, he authorized it and allowed the work to be done. He was home when we did the work and he received all documents and spoke with me personally to schedule the work.
Please reach out if you need additional information.

I am rejecting this response because:Item 1)
Beginning with the paragraph He was sent the original paperwork. I was never sent the original paperwork or any other paperwork about this job.
As stated in my complaint to the BBBMightyMenPestControl_DisputeToBetterBusinessBureau_102723.pdf) Mecca is the inspector ***** is referring to and ****** is the office manager:
On 09/29/2023, I asked ***** to email me a copy of the estimate when she told it to me. She said she would get permission from her boss and send it. I never received an email with the estimate. I called and spoke to ****** on10/02/2023 at 3:41pm and also asked her to send me a copy of the estimate. She said she would. I did not receive an estimate or contract prior to10/06/2023, when part of the work was done.Item 2)
The only estimate we received for the total work was verbal from the inspector in the amount of $1075. We never saw the inspectors notes. We also were not informed of the additional charges above the $1075 she told us verbally, not in writing or verbally. Regrettably, we trusted the company with this verbal agreement. We have dealt with many companies that way without many problems.
We requested four (4) times for a copy of the email that ***** claims she sent us. She never sent us the email or mailed any written documentation of the charges. We also never received the "Service Completed" notices (3) that the BBB has attached to this complaint from Mighty Men Services. The BBB should request the copy of the email from ***** that she claims she sent us, prior to starting the work, detailing the charges.
Item 3)
We contacted the credit card company today (11/22/2023) and sent them a copy of Marias explanation to the BBB. ***** claims in the letter that you (BBB) sent us, that she only got paid $1075 for the entire job. According to the credit card companys *************** she actually was paid $2250 on 10/13/2023. The credit card company needs to credit us the $676 which is the difference between the $2250that was charged by Mighty Men to our credit card and the $1574 that ***** states the job should cost. The credit card company ************** said this could take **** business days or longer for the credit to appear on our account.Until we receive the $676 credit to our account from the credit card company, this dispute remains unsettled.
Sincerely,
