Hello, we had a telephone conversation (consultation) with ******* on August 1st. We discussed our options and provided him with our income and debt situation. He advised that we could file for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and to not pay our credit cards and 1 of auto payments so we didn't pay our accounts for the month of August. He also advise to turn in the auto loan to the creditor and gave us a name of a dealership that could help us obtain a new vehicle while we were in bankruptcy. He sent us all the paperwork and we paid him our first payment of $200. He advised he would review our case and file today, August 24th. We provided all of our income, assets and certificate for credit counseling class 5-7 days after our initial conversation. I sent him an email stating that all our paperwork was turned in and ready for review. We had a phone called scheduled today for our filing. He then text my husband saying that we do not qualify for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. How does an attorney not prepare before the day of filing and tell his clients the day of filing that they do not qualify? That seems unprofessional to me.He also was judgmental towards us about taking out an auto loan in 2021 that has an extremely high payment and could afford at that time. He should be more understanding and willing to help clients instead of judging them and quick to dismiss us as clients.
