I recently had to cancel services with this firm. Upon canceling I was issued a refund but I was charged $350 for a free introductory consultation call that lasted roughly ****************************************************************************************************** The call consisted of the attorney introducing himself and telling me about the firm and their credentials. He told me what to expect and told me what not to do. I notified the account department of this after receiving my final bill. I was then told that was going to be my final bill regardless. I am reaching out to file a complaint because the business falsely represented charges on my statement. I was assured the call would not be charged because it was mostly the attorney talking about the law firm. I feel like I have been taken advantage of and lied to. I understand that there was an agreement signed when I became a client but I believe the charge is a misrepresentation of what I was promise. I believe I should be refunded for that charge because of the misrepresentation.Business Response

I hired them about nine months ago to file my bankruptcy during that time. I was instructed to send all my documents I sent everything that theyrequested then they request more. I sent all that and they request more. I sent all that and it just kept going from there I never received help And anytime I had a question and I called at first when ***** was handling it. She was very helpful than it cheered to ******* that handling it and she was indignant over the phone acting like she didnt have time so after a while I started getting frustrated, but I kept answering allthe emails. She sent the final email and I called and I asked her. Did you receive the stuff I sent She started being very competitive over the phone so at that point I told her Id call back after that I decided I was gonna a new lawyer got a new lawyer called and said I was canceling with them then I got a call from the lawyer suddenly Ive never spoketo him once till that day he said h*** handle it in a month at that point I decided to go with my new lawyer. They told me they would not refund any money. I paid $2700. They never refunded a *****.Business Response

We retained Majors Law Group to help us file bankruptcy we have done 90% of the work thus far for the money that we paid to them. We call and leave phone calls and get no return everytime we send documents they aren't good enough or even enough to get our actual filing done. Now we would like to cancel our contract with them and they are saying they deserve to keep money that they haven't even earned except maybe for a few hours worth of work done by their office people and the origional consultation which was supposed to be free. We feel taken advantage of and all we are asking is the return of at least 80% of our payments.Business Response

Due to attorney client privilege, I am not able to respond to the complaint. The majors law group denies any wrongdoing and charges reasonable fees for services rendered. Our fee agreements provide that the fees are not dependent on the outcome of the case. The flat fees are earned upon receipt and are nonrefundable if earned. A reasonable fee look back is performed in all cases and any refunds owed or remitted back to our client.Customer Answer

We finished paying our Fees in August and the office has done nothing but send some emails and requests we filled those requests and still it wasn't enough. Can never reach the person who actually sent the requests and no extra help was offered on the part of the office. We believe that they are overcharging their fees to negate having to refund us anything. We believe we are owed at least 80% of our origional payment of fees and that is what we are requesting at this time along with cancellation of our contract.
1900 x 80% would equal a refund of $1520

I believe this Law Group Takes Money and requires clients to do most of the work without very little help through the process. Everything seems to be my issue and i should look up ******* or something else to learn how to do it instead of being guided through it by the people who are being paid to help me. If and When the office has paid my money back to satisfactory then I may go ahead and delete my complaint seeing as it is fairly taken care ofInitial Complaint

Every time I would be caught up on paperwork in time to file, they were nowhere to be found, putting off my filing by over 6 months. I tried to get a refund of my retainer and they sent me a phony trumped up bill with such inaccuracies as half an hour spent wondering why I deposited my own paychecks in my bank. They are frauds. Plain and simple.Business Response

I am not governed by the BBB and will not be engaging in this complaint. Additionally, due to Attorney Client privilege- I cannot address the allegations. However, as a general matter my law firm provides services and a billing break down of all work done on cases. If the client wishes to share these details- that is their prerogative.
Kindly,
Dom Majors

On April 21, 2023 i had a consultation with this law group for bankruptcy, the lady on the phone told me everything i wanted to hear and stated my wage garnishment would stop as soon as i paid in full to get started. I paid the ***** dollars and turned in all paperwork. After hours of calls and emails they decided i didnt qualify because i support my son in college, not only did ****************** but literally said i get no money back for there time even though it was there mistake. Then he proceeded to accuse me of threatening him to deflect and kept my money. They are thieves and absolutely rude. Never again will i trust lawyers especially this firm they should be shut down.Business Response

I initially contacted the group thinking that I needed to file for bankruptcy I was told by the contact person on the phone and the initial call that if I wanted to back out or change my mind that I would get my refund for the money I spent I spent $600 and the fee was $1395 dollars for the entire process. When I try to get my money back after I was advised to not file for bankruptcy I was told that I was billed for $717 but I have not seen a bill or did not see a bill and did not talk to an attorney.
