1 starI recently purchased a 2018 Hyundai Elantra from the lot in Stillwell, OK. Within the second day of driving the vehicle, the whole car felt like it was shaking and made a rattling sound, so I took it for a checkup and oil change. The oil was overfilled, and the dipstick was not even the correct size. The motor mount and wheel bearings needed to be replaced, and I was quoted over 2,000 dollars for the replacements. The car also ran out of gas quickly within the three days of driving it and I was told that the car was good on gas mileage. I was offered to be put into another vehicle or wait until the mechanic was available since they were "easy fixes". I personally do not have time to be away from my job or to be without a car at the moment, so I traded the Elantra for a 2013 Ford Edge hoping that I would have a better chance at not having any problems. Within the second day of driving it, I am having issues with the acceleration and the car overheating. The only solution I was given was to drop it off with the mechanic. It has not been a full week of purchasing a vehicle from Car-mart and because I signed a contract, I am being refused to do anything other than make an appointment to drop it off with a mechanic for a fee when I was promised that I would not have to pay anything. When attempting to return the vehicle and ask for my down payment back, we were told "not happening". They test drove the car for less than five minutes and came back and told us there's nothing wrong. Brad Wilson was the one who test drove the vehicle and told us that. He was very unprofessional and rude towards me and my aunt which was unnecessary compared to some of the employees who were actually nice and were helpful. I am currently financing the car for over 16,000 when according to Kelly blue book, it's not even worth 5,000. I am writing this as a warning to be more through than I was when making a purchase like this and take your business elsewhere as I will be taking legal action.Review frommel P

1 starGot my car the end of January and 5 days later my check engine light came on. Took it and had to have two things fixed. Now I’m having an issue with it shutting off when stopped and it’s acting like isn’t getting gas. This time it almost didn’t start and now my check engine light is on and shuts off! They sell horrible cars.Review fromLeola W

1 starI recently put down $400 on a Honda CR-V. I told the salesman I will get the insurance next week because I have a bill I need to pay this week. So the next week, I called to see how long they would hold the Honda CR-V. They never told me how long, but instead reminded me I still have to make a payment that Saturday, even though the car is not in my possession, and it's still on their lot. So that didn't sit right with me, still no one gave me a time of how long they could hold the SUV. I was told in a conversation that if I miss the first payment that it would go into Repossession. I was confused, so I asked him How? The car is not in my possession. So I just asked for my down payment back. " The General Manager told me I can not have the down payment back". The result was that all I wanted was my down payment back. PLEASE DO NOT GET A VEHICLE FROM AMERICA'S CAR MART OF JONESBORO!!!!! They will rip you off.Review fromTiffany M

1 starI bought a 2009 Chevy Silverado from Car-Mart and only found out years later that the title was branded “Not Actual Miles.” This was never disclosed to me at the time of sale. The title brand severely affected the vehicle’s value, and I had unknowingly been paying on a truck that was worth far less than I thought. When I confronted them, they claimed they didn’t know. — but Car-Mart sold the vehicle and had a duty to disclose or verify the title status.
This was actually the second time Car-Mart did me wrong. Before this, I bought a Camaro that constantly broke down — I was stranded multiple times while pregnant. Car-Mart replaced major parts like the engine and radiator, but the car remained unreliable. I eventually surrendered it, thinking it was settled, only for them to report it as a repossession and damage my credit. I had even paid ahead on that loan, and they still sent it to auction the same day I signed the surrender form.
I’ve suffered financial loss, emotional stress, and long-term credit damage because of Car-Mart’s actions and refusal to take responsibility. Even though the title on the truck was finally fixed, the damage had already been done.
If you’re thinking about buying from Car-Mart, be extremely cautious. Double-check the title, demand everything in writing, and don’t rely on their word. I would never recommend them to anyone.Review fromBrandy j

1 starNot great! They sell you crappy cars that break down and then they hold your car for you for a year saying that they will tell you when they have an estimate to fix the vehicle. Never call you despite claims they did but they sure call you when you miss one payment on a car that you can’t even drive! Then when you go up there they claim they tried to call to tell you how much repairs are but the guy isn’t in so they can’t tell you. Still to this day making car payments and insurance payments on a car I don’t even have in my possession. Won’t tell you cost for repairs or even let you trade it in so we aren’t paying everything on the broken vehicle plus insurance on a car that isn’t ours so we don’t lose our jobs!Review fromKellie E

1 starThey get no stars. I purchased a 2017 Ford fusion from them in Palestine Texas, and after driving off the lot, went to the car wash and the whole front bumper fell off. It was so embarrassing. So I drove back to the dealership and told them and the Manager Misty told me to bring it back on Friday to be repaired. I showed up on Friday and saw a 2010 Ford Focus and told them I would take that car. They asked me to pay 30 more dollars to get the car. I did. Now the 2017 was 13,000 and some change, which I was ok with. But they are telling me that the 2010 is also 13,000 and some change. I know that is bull-crap. Even the lady at the insurance office where I had to put full coverage on the car told me to take it back. It was highway robbery. And mind you the book value for the 2010 Ford fusion is 4000.00. On my account, I will have to pay them $16,000.00 before I own the car. I paid my first payment and will not be making a second. I have called a another dealership and they even said it was ridiculous when I told them. If I pay this much, I might as well go to a real dealership and get what I want. They have special payments for 3 months 670.00 and then the payment drops to your normal payment of 585.00. I refuse to pay that for a 2010 Ford fusion monthly. I will be returning this car. The monthly payments are ridiculous for these high mileage cars. Stay away from this car dealership and they should be reported to the consumer protection agency. Just sad. Stay away from this dealership!!!!Review fromSamuel P

1 starMy name is Sam ******, I have been a customer of Car-mart for about a year now but recently have been dissatisfied and disappointed with their “service” so far.
I’ve been fighting tooth and nail between them and AutoZone about my alternator warranty and have not heard anything. All I keep hearing is “We’ll call you when we know something” and they NEVER do.
Personally? Go somewhere else, where they actually call and get you the answers you need.Review fromDelsie T

1 starTotal scam 4 vehicles later they still gave me nothing I tagged all cars and paid taxes on all these cars and paid for all the repairs and was never refunded for anything and was left with a broke down vehicle and was told that I was refusing to let them get it even though it was sitting in my garage broken down ?? after I replace the battery that exploded on the same day we got the car.Review fromCourtney H

1 starTotal scam! I purchased a vehicle from them back in October 2024. I purchased the extended warranty in hopes if they were selling me a "lemon" I would be safe. Well I was wrong . I had my vehicle for 82 days exactly and my motor completely blew. I had no choice but to have it towed to one of their approved mechanics. They had my vehicle for almost 7 weeks. They did not keep in contact , they wouldn't come to the phone And they kept blaming the mechanic for taking so long they refused to call the mechanic and find out when my vehicle would be done. Needless to say My vehicle drives worse than before ,the service engine light is on and I'm worried it may break down on me at any given time. Yes, it's still under the contract, but I almost lost my job for going seven weeks without a vehicle. So Why would I tell them something's wrong with my vehicle? They knew and still know they ripped me off . It's sad they prey on people who desperately need vehicles to sell them absolute junk.Review fromAdam T

2 starsThe only reason I gave them two stars is because they got me into a car but if I had only known now because it's tax season they say that I owe them an extra 1200 dollars on top of my normal payment they say that they mentioned this when I signed my contract but no they didn't and who would really know because they said they would mail me my contract this has been 9 months ago now these people are literally trying to charge me extra because they think I'm getting a tax refund there has to be a law against them treating me like this they are going to repo my car that I have not missed one single payment on because I guess they think I'm not going to pay it and they will be able to sell it to someone else something needs to be done this is criminal
