I hired ******* ****** to move me from one house to another 30 minutes away. He came to my home, saw everything that was going, even to the basement items. Quoted me a price, we set a date, I changed it almost immediately to a later date. I used his guy to pack my things. Big mistake. Very nice man but I could have just thrown my things in boxes myself. The night before Mr. ****** calls & informs me he will be later as his truck was being worked on. He arrives 3 hours later than agreed upon time. Truck is loaded & there isn’t room for all my things. A white chair is not wrapped. Just thrown in. We leave at approx. the same time: some time after arriving @ my new home I get a call requesting water & antifreeze. The truck was on the interstate broken down. The brakes also froze up. I fulfilled his request. Finally they arrive & he is in a foul mood. He is short & ugly w/ me. He completely disrespected me in my own home. Threw things off the truck onto a blanket which included expensive fly rods. Then argued w/ me & said I was just looking for things to be upset about. My dryer no longer works. My tabletop is scratched. A piece is missing from my bookcase. Hangers, candle broken. Items spilled they packed. White chair has oil handprints all over it (I did keep back the money to have it cleaned but it should have arrived in the same condition.) Hit a light at my new house I have to have repaired. Guy was in a nasty shirt unloading. He got angry because I didn’t have cash to pay him. He never said he wanted cash. Told me it was extra to turn my sofa the correct way. I told him wasn’t he glad I didn’t treat him like that when he needed antifreeze. He accused me of doing it so I could brag. No. My things were on the interstate for 4 hours. The biggest thing is my dryer. I’ve emailed him & no response re: the issues. He also upped the price even tho he got none of my items from the basement. Said it was a truckload thing. He was so ugly & so unprofessional.
