I chose this moving company based on their employee saying they could do an internal move within my home and specifically noted I needed to have my Sleep Number bed moved without damage. The male I spoke with indicated they could do so and that they “did it all the time.” The movers came this afternoon and concluded with a 30 minute attempt to put the bed back together. At that point, I informed them that because they charge by the hour, I could not let them continue their attempts to assemble. I asked that they call the office to see if they could send someone who could put Sleep Number bed back together, even if on a different day. Their tablet was out of battery power, so I received no receipt. I also explained that I couldn’t pay without making sure my bed wasn’t damaged. They were already at my home for nearly 5 hrs for a simple move. One of the movers called their office, and I spoke Joe Waller, who denied that they could assemble such beds. I asked that he send someone to do so and I would pay the moving bill upon reassembly. Mr. ****** said the pre-move letter says they don’t assemble Sleep Numbers. Thier movers clearly made an attempt. I again reminded him that this was my sole basis for choosing their company and paying a higher price than other moving companies. He did not try to resolve the issue, said that the bill has to be paid before they’d discuss any damages and abruptly hung up the phone mid conversation. I’ve called Sleep Number and have paid $99 to have my bed put back together. I am willing to pay Two Men And A Truck the 4.75 hours worked, less the $99 I’m out of pocket for the reassembly.

DO NOT USE TWO MEN AND A TRUCK IN PELHAM! The movers damaged my dresser by DROPPING IT and lied to say it was them that made the noise by falling into the truck. I was attending the bleeding mover when the lead mover lied. I watched everything being put into the storage unit and they tried to slide it past me. When I saw the crushed corner of the dresser, the movers acted surprised and sent for the Ipad to take pictures. Now Im being told by Daniel they don't always take pictures because the Ipads are faulty. What? I was also told I would be charged one amount (6.5 hours) and then was charged another 7 1/4 hours - I didn't do the math when I closed out on my credit card). Lead mover also lied and said an important bin was still in my garage that he PERSONALLY removed from the truck when, in fact, it was buried deep in the storage unit and he saw it before he answered. There was no way to mistake it. I've called for a MONTH about the damage to my dresser and every time I get a voice mail for the department. Today they claimed I owed them more money which was posted the day AFTER closing out which is also the first day I called and was rudely yelled at. The manager said the GPS shows they were at my location longer and refuses to process a damage claim unless I pay them $600+ more they say I owe. I closed out on that day and do not see how they can claim I owe more. The lead mover lied repeatedly about stuff and one of the movers asked me for my furniture! My stuff was still on the truck when they said they were done. The claims department manager YELLED at me on the phone and repeatedly said IF YOU WOULD LET ME FINISH and now I cannot get a human in that department at all. They dodge your phone calls and heaven forbid you end up with damage.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Response

We regret that this customer is upset with their recent experience. We have attempted to explain our reasoning behind being unable to move forward with her claim, but have unfortunately not been allowed the opportunity to do so during our phone conversations as they always seem to be more one sided than the other. As detailed during booking and as covered in our Pre-Move letters, time for a local move starts when the movers leave dispatch and ends when they return back to our office. GPS records confirm this time as 12.25 hours, however the men did take down time throughout the day, resulting in a billable total for 11 hours. Unfortunately, there was an issue with their tablet causing the men to erroneously only charge for 7.25 hours, resulting in an undercharge of over $500. While we certainly understand that is at no fault of the customer, we also understand that our damage policy is clear by stating that "no damage claims will be honored until the charges for moving services have been paid in full". Although we feel our billing for a local move is clear and it should be easy to see that an undercharge took place if movers were with you until 7PM yet you were only charged until closer to 2PM, we understand the confusion is on our side here, so we have no plans to seek the remaining balance from the customer as long as she understands that we cannot move forward with a claim unless they decided to first take care of the billing issue. This is something that is incredibly rare, but has happened before. Most customers are understanding and view the discount they received in error as more than fair compensation for any damage in question. We regret that this isn't the case in this circumstance. As always, we will gladly continue to discuss the situation with the customer. That being said, the customer was told yesterday that the person she had been speaking with initially was out of the office this week and would be able to call back on Monday. Even still, the customer has continued to contact this office and responds in a frustrated manner when we aren't able to provide her more details than we already have.
