      On January 16th, 2024, a driver insured by NYCM collided with our property, resulting in significant damage to our yard and mailbox. We promptly filed a claim on the same day of the incident. However, nearly two months later, we are still awaiting reimbursement for the relatively minor damages we reported. This delay persists despite our repeated efforts to follow up on the matter.

      Truly the worst experience I’ve ever had with someone else’s insurance. The amount of money they have made me shell out because of THEIR policy holder hitting ME & being 100% at fault. AWFUL customer service. Down right awful. Their wait times are an hour plus right now to get through for even basic help. That’s not an exaggeration. Can’t ever get a hold of anyone. If you “leave a message for a call back” you’re going to have to hound them down when they don’t call you back ever. The “examiner” assigned to me took her phone off the hook at 3pm on a Monday. I never got a call back on Friday when I initially called. From 3-5pm, it said she had “stepped away or was working with another client” for two hours???? Insane service. Horrible insurance company to even work with from the other side. Would never suggest them to anyone & I never want to have to work with them again. Truly. It was a nightmare plus. By the way— I’ve been dealing with them for nearly five months over an accident that happened in November. FULLY their policy holders fault. I wasn’t even moving. Including not having a car to get to necessity things such as work, groceries, etc. They don’t give a crap about service or how they’re inconveniencing other peoples’ lives. I live in the country. I NEED my car & I need a reliable rental that I don’t have to pay out of my own pocket to have. Which they are trying to charge me out of pocket since I live in upstate NY & everyone has been backed up. That’s not my fault. At all. Just like it isn’t my fault your policy holder hit me. So I shouldn’t pay out of pocket for something YOUR policy holder did. If they’re such an issue to you, maybe you should drop them instead of making other people deal with them. Thanks for literally the worst service I’ve EVER experienced with any form of a company. It’s terrible. Should be negative one star.

      If I could give -stars I would. Last year I was in a small fender bender, a woman backed into me and she declared fault then and there to the insurance company (hers and mine). It took 3-4 months of back and forth with NYCM because they had wanted ME to pay my deductible instead of communicating with the woman’s insurance company to get the money for repairs. The entire process was long and much more complicated than it should have been (only about $2,000 worth of damage to my vehicle, none to the other party). I had to initiate every single phone call and update because I went 2 weeks without a single call, email or text. Also I was told when I did get ahold of somebody (I was on hold for 2.5 HOURS) that the person handling my case was on vacation, I’m sorry WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK!? For a company that’s supposed to be “there for the customer” the customer service was horrible. Now 8 months later I am up for renewal and they’re raising my monthly payment because of that accident. Considering all this is happening with a FENDER BENDER I am terrified if something more major happens because this company will NOT take care of what needs to be done

      After reading these terrible reviews, maybe getting canceled by them was the best thing that could happen. Less than one star. Was canceled by old insurance because I was "a liability" (one major accident in 28 years of driving in Upstate NY, winter weather, hazardous conditions. This is how the accident happened). Anyway, find these people and get insurance, Only to get canceled 1 month later because my husbands license has been revoked for over 11 years and never had a problem with insurance before. Whatever. F them. My husband doesn't drive. Moving on, find new insurance only to have them debit my account for a renters policy that was, to my understanding, grouped with the car insurance. My car insurance was canceled on 2/7 but on 2/14 I have a charge from them. Come to find out, my driving record is unsatisfiable to them but my money is good enough to keep the renters. Cancel it and find out that when it's processed they will mail me a refund, From everything I am reading I probably won't see it. This company needs to be shut down.

      This company is terrible no wonder they have 1.44 stars. The worst customer service ever. Filed a claim for a simple windshield replacement as I have a policy that has full glass coverage. They clearly don't know how to read or they are incompetent because they said they are having trouble verifying when it's right there in BLACK and WHITE. No one was willing to help only pass the buck and this is completely unacceptable. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE insurance company! DO NOT USE

      If zero stars were an option, thats what I would give this company. I unfortunately had a major hot water pipe leak in my kitchen (in December in NY-in frigid weather) leaving me with no hot water. These pipes run under my concrete slab. I was told because this did not cause water damage, that i would receive ZERO help. How is there no damage?? Even though they were completely aware that we needed to cause SIGNIFICANT damage to our kitchen to fix this issue, they couldn't have cared less. I was told when the concrete was opened up and if there were signs of water damage to give the adjustor a call back. When the concrete was demolished, there were clearly signs that this water that was leaking washed away the soil under the concrete leaving hardly anything supporting the concrete slab. The adjustor came back out and states that it would be within a day or two for an answer if this was something that was covered. 10 days later, multiple voicemails left (mind you- I've lost my kitchen, I have a massive hole within my floor in -9 degree weather) without a response. NYCM corporate office told me they do not have a report of her coming out and that they would reach out to her to have her call me back. Hours later, I got a phone call with an immediate denial of coverage. This has been a major issue within my house. This has costed me THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of dollars to fix. This company completely neglected to help during a serious crisis in my home. They have done and said anything they could to not help. I would not trust this company to help anyone during a huge home crisis. I have them for home and auto insurance and I will be leaving this company as soon as I can. Knowing they are who I rely on in a time of crisis is now terrifying. I will quite literally have to get a second job because this company has failed to recognize this as water damage to my home. I will ensure that I will let everyone I know to not use this company in hopes I can save others from this.

      Terrible Company>After our house fire which NYCM declared a total loss in January of 2022 we have not received payments we are entitled to. NYCM took two months to make a determination on the value of our home and the cost to rebuild. That determination was grossly undervalued and depreciated by 13%. It took legal intervention and nine months to receive the coverage limit amount we were entitled. Nine Months after our fire NYCM issued payment for our personal property, depreciated the amount by 30-35%, and deducted money paid to us that should have been applied against the loss of use/additional living expenses coverage. We had to provided details and receipts to get reimbursed for some of those expenses under the other coverages. Fourteen months later NYCM also arbitrarily stopped paying our loss of use coverage even though we were not near the limit defined in the policy costing us almost $8,000 out-of-pocket expense. Our personal property coverage is still under dispute and has not been paid nearly two years later. We have been in litigation since April of 2023 and have no indication of how long that process will take. We have experienced nothing but delay after delay waiting for them to review requested information submitted by us and professionals. They request pictures, receipts, and documentation instead of sending someone out to see for themselves. They invent ways to delay the entire process and make it obvious they are not willing to pay the claim. We have always paid our premiums in full, on time, and never imagined in the event of a tragedy we would have to wait this long to collect the coverages in our policy. We are senior citizens, and I am a decorated combat veteran. After losing everything we own it is has been extremely difficult and time-consuming attempting to rebuild a life as we knew it. Not having the funds to replace what we once had because of the unwillingness of NYCM to meet their policy obligations is disgusting.

      My car a 2020 Nissan was toaled and the pick up truck wasn't. They drove away we see that truck around every day. So on my claim nycm 26,680 they only paid 17,910 on my car and stated that the rest went to the pick up truck because according to nycm was a total loss. Iam getting hold of my lawyer how 8,000 goes to an old pick up truck that is still on the road and had a little dent someone is obviously committing fraud here. Iam beyond mad ??.
