They came highly recommended but Randy told me his people don't want to do strictly paint jobs anymore. This is how their website reads under their name:
Complete Vehicle Paint Services
✓ Original manufacturer quality paint services (Basecoat - Clearcoat)
✓ Tulsa's best source for cost-effective complete paint services (Single Stage Urethane)
✓ Custom & restoration painting
✓ All paint work includes a warranty
✓ Secure indoor storage
They previously considered themselves a "paint" shop" even with their name - "Paintmasters" but they made an offer I accepted and then reneged. Had it been a complex job I might understand, but the car's paint only has a few bad spots. They had no problem quoting me 45 days ago but somehow - the way it was explained to me by Randy - "we're getting away from paint jobs to concentrate on collision repair" Their website - like the one I authored for my business - could be changed in a single day to reflect that.
I'm sorry I wasted my time with these people. As I call other shops setting up appointments every single one says "I can't believe they're not accepting paint only jobs anymore. It is amazing to me how a company with such a good reputation is willing to throw it all away.
I'm giving a one star rating so that I can post the review; they certainly did not earn it.
Paintmaster Collision Response

Mr. P****** came to our shop in September 2021 to get an estimate to paint his 1994 Accura. At that time he got an estimate to paint the entire vehicle with our most expensive paint job. That estimate clearly stated "This is a preliminary estimate. Additional changes to the estimate may be required for the actual repair." When we heard back from Mr. P****** in late November he mentioned he would want the estimate changed to reflect that he would supply two new fenders and balked at the fact that there might be additional labor charges for fitting up and/or preparing non-OEM fenders.
Up until this time two managers had been helping Mr. P****** but I was asked by one if I'd take a look at the job. When I looked up the car he wanted us to paint I found it was not an ordinary daily driver car. This car cost approximately $72,000 new in 1994 and could be worth more than that now. This is a collector car not suited for restoration in an ordinary collision repair shop, even one as good as ours.
So the next time Mr P****** called I told him I didn't think we should be painting his car for him, to which he replied that we could and should paint his car. The conversation continued to be strained to the point that I advised him that if we were in disagreement before even starting the job, it would probably be best to part ways.
At no time did I tell him we don't do complete paint jobs, but he has called other shops to say as much. We have stopped doing restorations and have pulled down our webpage for them many weeks ago, but we continue to do complete paints on daily driver vehicles and fleet vehicles needing them to sport the company colors. We did miss removing the line, "custom & restoration painting" on our complete painting pages and have now removed it.
We would hope that any potential customer would appreciate being advised that a company is not completely sure they can provide the level of attention they might expect or need for a particular job. We ARE able to provide the proper attention to all of our customers needs because we accept responsibility for the jobs we are best suited for. We just wish Mr. P****** appreciated our reasoning and respected our decision.
