The BBB Educational Foundation works in concert with BBB of Eastern NC, managing its educational and charitable initiatives. Currently, the Educational Foundation’s major programs are:
In Pursuit of Ethics: An ethics training program targeted toward both business people and students. IPoE utilizes videos of real life situations leading to ethical dilemmas. Classroom participant discussion assists the characters in determining how to react at critical junctures and determines the course of the videos. Visit IPoE.org for more information.
Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics: Annual awards program created to publicly recognize businesses and charities that maintain a solid commitment to conducting their business practices in an ethical manner. Visit torchaward.org for more information.
Torch Scholarships: Semi-annual scholarships awarded to high school juniors, seniors and/or college undergraduates in our service area. Visit bbbscholarship.org for more information.
"Secure Your ID" Day: This semi-annual event provides consumers with a safe way to destroy documents and electronics containing sensitive information, and educates consumers on ways to further protect themselves from identity theft. The event includes free document shredding, collection of computers and hard-drives for secure destruction, and electric/electronics recycling. Visit bbbshred.org for more information.
