I'm saddened to write this letter to reach out to the Better Business Bureau in regards to the absolutely poor service we have received from Quillen Brothers Windows and Doors. Our story starts in October 2020 when a salesman approached our door, even though I had called and cancelled the appointment, and we decided to hear the offer.
We then decided to purchase a patio door replacement. Let me give you some background information as to why we proceeded with the replacement window and chose Quillen Brothers. In my previous house, my parent's house, my in-law's house and three of our current house windows has been either completely replaced or partially replaced by Quillen Brothers windows. We had been satisfied with their service, products and communication. Unfortunately, it ended with the replacement of our patio door.
The door was ordered in October and put in right before Thanksgiving of 2020. Upon completion, we had numerous issues that included door not shutting correctly, not locking, leaking, screen not moving smoothly. We contacted them after Thanksgiving and received a message that due to Covid the office would be closed for six weeks. I did leave numerous messages hoping that someone might be checking in. After the six-week period had ended I continued to call and leave messages. Finally, we reached out to our salesman. We were told that he would contact someone in the office. After numerous phone calls and messages, we fast forward to when finally, someone contacted us concerning the patio door. Meanwhile, all this time, the door was leaking and ran down to our basement walls and has created floor damage. They came to simply adjust the door 7 times. Each time blaming someone else and not completely fixing the problem and adding more damage such as dented floors, caulking smeared all over or sheer lack of clean up. The leak was finally addressed on the last visit, but the water damage has not been addressed. We are now in September of 2021 and have been told more than 6 weeks ago that a whole new door would be ordered since the first one just didn't fit. The serviceman contacted the factory direct and it was guaranteed in three weeks. When calling to inquire again about the status of the door, I was told that it just came in but they were waiting on a few other parts. I have yet to still hear from them and have requested a call from their manager or even president of the company (which I had been promised he would contact us personally at least three times) and have yet to hear a response from anyone.
We have never been so dissatisfied with a product or service as we have Quillen Brothers. All of the lies, unprofessional behavior on the job site, calls to make a time for them to come install or fix the door and then only to call to cancel after planning to be home, and the damage to our home is simply unacceptable. By writing and reaching out to the BBB I hope that no other person/family has to endure the countless hours put into what should have been a simple improvement to our home.

Delivery delays have nothing to do with the poor service prior to Covid and factory shutdowns. We have been lied to, left with messes, and have had to take time to adjust our schedules and be home for service calls that were never fulfilled. This is just plain bad business and always blaming someone else. This process started prior to Covid and we are completely understanding factory delays, but the excuses are unwarranted. And for further assistance, we have called the listed number, but to no avail. We have been forwarded to various people, told someone would call us back, or have not had our messages never returned. We love their windows! We open our windows so much more now that we have new ones and they are effortless! Our house is so much lighter and brighter with them too.
