4 Guys and a Roof finished my roof a few weeks ago. I was most impressed by the fact that we received a call every Friday with an updated schedule. The price was fair, we did not have a long wait for the process to start, and and they finished in two days. The only negative is that when an old shingle was scrapped off the roof, it scratched a window. You should know that although the company has a local address, it is from Michigan. I don't know how they hire the people who do the work. Also: be aware that they will remove the gutter guards but will not replace them. My main dissatisfaction is with the color of the Owens Corning shingle, which is not the fault of Four Guys. The color of the shingle varies with the angle of the roof. On a steep part of the roof, it is the brown color that we saw in the sample. On the shallower parts of the roof, it looks gray. If you get a color sample, be sure to look at it at the same angle that the roof has.

Full Disclosure: I am a Realtor who has also in the past worked for 1 of their top roofing competitors in NW Ohio. I had a good experience with that competitor I worked for, and I have exposure to most of the roofing companies in the area thru being a Realtor and thru my Real Estate Investing background. All that to say, when I say EXCELLENT!, I'm comparing them to my direct or indirect experience with many other roofing companies. Sales Experience - EXCELLENT! Even though they were really backed up and didn't "need" the work, they gave us by FAR the best quote of the 3 companies we had over, and by "best quote" I don't just mean price. Yes, they were a bit lower than the competition in price, but the quote was incredibly detailed while also being easy to read, so we felt very comfortable that what we were quoted is what we would pay. Installation Experience - EXCELLENT! The finished product looks amazing, and the attention to detail with the flashing, vents, etc. was top notch as well. Now, most of us by now know that this is a crazy time to be an employer with the worker shortages, etc., and the roofing industry isn't immune to that. This was a 2 layer tear-off and install, mind you... On the first day they were short-staffed from their normal 5 man crew (wait, I thought the company was called...lol nevermind) down to only 3. One of them left around lunch and the other left in the afternoon, but the Crew Leader Chris stayed until dark on his own to finish one half of the roof so as not to leave some of the sheathing exposed overnight (before 7am - 9:30pm with 6 or 7 of those hours being alone). The second day was a bit more straightforward for them, but the quality, attitude, and HUSTLE (work ethic) of everyone we saw was great. I can't say enough about Chris though, the guy was a TERRIFIC Crew Leader, example to his crew, and just a great person in general. Post-Installation Experience - EXCELLENT! (so far) Clean up was done well above our expectations. We've found a few small pieces of shingles in the grass here or there, and a few (very few) nails, but it is impossible to get EVERYTHING unless they were gonna spend another half day there going over it with a fine-tooth comb. When the dumpster was picked up, it put a gash in our front yard grass near the street, but the driver actually got out without even knowing we were watching, got a garden rake out of his truck, and fixed it. I'm sure they use a 3rd party vendor for the dumpster, so it shows they even take great care in picking out the companies they work with, they don't just go with the cheapest! Overall Experience - FAR EXCEEDED ALL EXPECTATIONS! We couldn't be happier with our choice, and even if something *does* pop up down the road relating to their workmanship, etc., every conversation I've had with everyone at the company has given me the peace of mind that they will absolutely take care of us. I will be referring them to all of my family, friends, and Real Estate clients going forward. THANK YOU 4 GUYS! If I could give more than 5* I would!
