BBB Exposes Student Loan Company's Bad Practices

Earlier this month, BBB issued a press release highlighting its work with the Texas Attorney General that resulted in a lawsuit being filed against My Education Solution (MES), a San Antonio-based student loan debt relief company. 

BBB's investigation discovered that despite MES advertising indicating that it saved clients "70% on average off their monthly student loan payments and student loan debt," substantiation for the claim was lacking; it contained inconsistent, inaccurate information such as duplicate account information, altered monthly payments and missing data.

Additionally, BBB found several consumers enrolled in the MES program who either obtained no savings or even pay more by the end of their loan period.
