BBB Accreditation RevocationBetter Business Bureau (BBB) has revoked BBB Accreditation of four businesses for violations of BBB’s Accreditation Agreement. BBB’s Executive Committee took this action on Apr. 25, 2017, upon recommendation of its Standards and Compliance Committee.

The companies expelled were:

BBB notified RD’s Auto on Jan. 4 of the company’s “C-” rating. BBB asked for RD’s Auto resignation as a BBB Accredited Business. RD’s Auto failed to respond to BBB’s request for resignation.

BBB notified Summers Appliance Service on several occasions between Nov. 1 and Mar. 31, 2017, of a complaint alleging an inferior product and failure to issue a refund. The company failed to respond to BBB about the complaint.

BBB contacted Drake Construction Specialist, LLC on several occasions between Dec. 20 and Mar. 16, 2017, in reference to a consumer complaint alleging a failure to complete a repair. The company failed to respond to BBB about the complaint.

BBB notified M & M Siding & Windows on numerous occasions between Jun. 20, 2016 and Mar. 16, 2017, of a complaint alleging an inferior repair and failure to issue a refund. The company has not made a good faith effort to resolve this complaint nor has it agreed to mediate or arbitrate the dispute.

BBB Accredited Businesses also are required to respond to customer complaints and BBB inquiries, to make a good faith effort to resolve complaints and to honor arbitration decisions. Failure to do so is considered prejudicial to the best interests of BBB and private enterprise. Accredited Businesses also must maintain a BBB rating of B or higher.

Expulsion from accreditation status is unfortunate. However, BBB takes enforcement of its standards very seriously. Applicants for BBB Accreditation also must meet BBB standards. They can be denied accreditation if they fail to comply.

BBB Standards of Accreditation are designed to offer consumers confidence before they make purchasing decisions. Consumers are urged to contact BBB at 314-645-3300 or bbb.org, for a BBB Business Profile before doing business with any company or charity.
