St. Louis, Mo., Sept. 13, 2016 – Beloman is among 10 businesses and two charities who will receive TORCH Awards from Better Business Bureau (BBB) Serving Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois at noon Thursday, Oct. 27, at the Chase Park Plaza in St. Louis.
Beloman, based in Belleville, Ill., is a second-generation heating and cooling contractor that has been serving the Metro East area for 57 years.
Jim Lugge, president and son of the founder, said the company’s mission is simple: Do the job right the first time, every time. “Every employee represents the company, and they have to do it well the first time,” Lugge said. “If we do have a problem, we address it immediately.”
Dennis Lower, president and CEO of Cortex Innovation Community, will be the keynote speaker at the TORCH Awards luncheon. Cortex has been instrumental in attracting technology and bioscience companies to midtown St. Louis.
KMOV-TV Investigative Reporter Chris Nagus will emcee the event.
Businesses are evaluated for their commitment to customer service through exceptional standards for ethical business practices. The awards committee, made up of previous winners, looks at how the company benefits customers, employees and the larger community. They also must meet BBB ethical, advertising and selling standards.
Companies and charities may nominate themselves, or they may be nominated by customers or other businesses.
BBB presents winners with a crystal trophy that they can display. They may promote their status in advertising, marketing and on their websites.
The TORCH Awards event begins with Speaker Sponsor networking at 10:30 a.m., followed by Gain by Giving networking at 11:30. The luncheon is from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, in the Khorassan Room at the Chase Park Plaza. Tickets for the noon luncheon are available at $60 a person, or $600 for a table of 10. Patron sponsorships, which include luncheon tickets, are available for $1,500.
