If you are looking for a title company that will communicate with you and meet a deadline, Freedom Land and Title is not a good choice. My elderly mother sold her home and the title transfer was handled by Freedom Land and Title. The morning of closing, 2 hours notice, they told us we needed 5 signatures from multiple states and they had to be notarized. When asked why this was not caught earlier they made excuses, we have been extremely busy, but never offered an apology. I spent 8 hours on the road to collect the signatures that should have already been collected. This should have allowed them to meet the deadline to “cut the checks”, but alas, it took 3 extra days for them to do that. I asked that my mom receive a call to keep her updated on the status, no one bothered to call her. I emailed the owner asking for an update, Lisa replied “Thank you for your patience as we work through this”. Not one apology for all the delays and lack of communication. I also asked her to let my mom know via phone when she could pick up her check, guess she didn’t have time in her day to do so. We were lucky that the delay in funds did not interrupt buying the next property or any other major event. I am certain there are other title companies in Missouri and I would strongly suggest you check with one of them. A real estate transaction is one of the biggest economic and stressful dealings most will ever deal with. Freedom Land and Title made the stress even higher. You deserve a company that will be there for you during the entire process, Freedom Land and Title is not that company. In the end mom did receive her check, but an 80 year old widow should not have to live through the stress and anguish that Lisa and her company put my mom through.
