I went under contract for a home with Hometown Equity Mortgage, LLC dba the lender 5/21/2022 where I received a loan estimate for a $295,000 home at a 6.75% interest rate including all closing costs rolled into the loan and down payment assistance with a prospective close date of 6/21/2022. Due to a delay for an appraisal, we had to extend the contract until 6/29/2022. I then received a loan estimate on 6/24/2022 of a 6.5% interest rate with closings costs of $22,000 and down payment assistance. Apparently this occurred because the loan officer ****** ****** did not lock in my rate, for this she was supposedly fired but the lender still couldn’t help me. Being that was not offered and closing day was near, my realtor and broker offered concessions to still obtain the deal. By 6/28, I was now receiving an estimate with a 6.25% interest rate $30,000 in closing costs and excluding down payment assistance. I was told that I no longer qualified for down payment assistance and they do not know why nor am I allowed to use my earnest money or the offered concessions towards my down payment. I received 4 loan estimates all increasing every time I received a new one, although, I was finding solutions the lender continued to change the answers and/or reasonings every 2-3 business days asking for more money. It is now 7/13 and we have extended the closing date two times for me to receive the answer that I must come up with 3.5% of my loan excluding my earnest money and $1300 that was spent for an appraisal. Behind that my lease expired 6/1, I am now without shelter and lost all of my fundings towards my house.
