This started on February 9, 2023. I went to Med x Change and bought a new power chair for my mom. That chair was too big so we exchanged it for a different chair. This chair was also too big and since she had had it a couple of weeks they could not do an exchange. But they did offer to sell it on Consignment, 50/50 and no fees, for us. They said since the chair was new it would probably go for $100 or $200 less than mom paid for it ($2600). A month later, I called to check on the status of the chair, they said it had sold but couldn't remember the selling price. They proceeded to tell me "a 94 year old woman with a lot of money" had bought the chair. They then told my mom it sold for $1500 and "it went to a man that had bargained them down." It all sounded conveniently vague. My sister and I went to the store to request to see the Bill of Sale, after all, it was on Consignment, we should have some proof. At first they said we couldn't see the Bill of Sale because the buyer's name was on it and for privacy purposes. And then they proceeded to print up a fake Bill of Sale. We knew it was fake because it didn't have the serial number on it, because their BOS always has the serial number on it. We have bought from them before. We were told they would have the store owner, *****, call us. *****, called and told me that he would give the chair back to us for the $750 check that was sent and he would buy that customer a new chair. This just seemed like a odd thing to do considering the lady or man, depending on which story you believe, paid $1500 for the chair and he would order them a new $2600 chair! I asked "why would you do that, we are only asking for $250?". Which we think the chair really sold for at the minimum $2000, not $1500. *****' reply was, "for spite, I am the owner and I can do what I want". All we are asking for is a fair price for the chair. We simply do not believe that the chair sold for $1100 less than what we paid for it, within a three week span!
