On July 10,2023 I arrived at Marion Toyota and purchased a new 2023 Toyota truck. I wrote a personal check for the FULL asking price, includig dealer fees. I am a non-resident of the state of Illinois. Illinois and Texas do not have a working relationship in registering and applying for vehicle registration and title. I was informed that I and not Marion Toyota would have to register and apply for title with my state ***. Marion Toyota stated that they would mail me the vehicle documents, including the vehicle Certificate of Origin (the vehicle's Birth Certificate) within 30 days. To date, I have not yet received the proper Certificate of Origin from Marion Toyota that is needed by my state *** for them to properly register, issue a title and vehicle plates for this vehicle. Therefore, as of this date, almost 3 months now, I cannot register,sale or legally drive this FULLY PAID FOR vehicle because Marion Toyota has yet to provide me with a proper vehicle Certificate of Origin ( as issued on ALL newly manufactured vehicles) that my state *** will need to complete the application for registration and make title of this vehicle. Marion Toyota has stated reasons as to why I have yet to receive the needed documentation and that they will send me duplicate documentation, but to this date, I have yet to receive the documentation that satisfies my state *** in order to properly register and title this vehicle.
