The contracted job was to take down five tall (60’) trees and to cut the tree into 16” logs. The removal of the trees was a 5 star job and couldn’t have been done any better. Two of the trees were very close to the house, and the tree cutter felled all portions of the tree perfectly. When it came to cutting the tree into logs however, I would give them one star since it was a terrible job. Instead of 16” logs, some were as small as 6” in length (hardly any good at all for firewood), while there were at least half a dozen that were 4 feet long. There didn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to the cutting, since the size of the “logs” varied dramatically. I’m not sure if it was laziness or incompetence, but it was certainly far from professional and not worth the large amount of money I paid. As mentioned, the takedown of the trees was done professionally and perfectly, but the subsequent cutting into 16” sections was anything but. So, a warning: if you are planning on having a felled tree cut into logs, make sure to monitor every single cut. If you do not, you may end up with a real mess as I did. Caveat emptor!

Ken we are happy that the tree removal went good for you, we do apologize for the inconvenience on the length of the wood that was left, sometimes with larger trees we have to cut some of the pieces smaller for our crews to be able to manage them.
