The real estate company allowed a contractor to start work the first part of May tearing out sliding glass doors installing windows and taking out beams and decks. We have been without a deck since May, there is an opening in the wall from the beam the contractor removed from my walk-out basement for 7-months now. Water, bugs, rodents and snow have come in from this. In September I went into the office with photos and spoke to ***** and showed her the photos of the electrical running all over the yard, construction debris and insulation, nails and screws sticking up out of the boards and the unfinished work in my special needs sons room. She made a call to ***** my property manager then a brief conversation ensued, she hung up and said ***** wanted me to know it was not his deal it was the owners contractor. Since September the situation has gotten substantially worse. The contractor cut our internet, $100 repair for me. I called ***** the first part of November and let him know there was a major habitability problem and my special needs son sleep walks. I would not pay rent until this was fixed. ***** said he would have the deck secured but never did, He served my 13-year-old son an eviction demand. I went to regional and reported this because the landlord refuses to fix the problems. The contractor never applied for a permit. ***** told the contractor to tape a piece of paper to the sliding door saying dont go out, under construction. Theyve left exposed electrical with water running through it, my garden was ripped out by the contractor, he painted my garage shut, there are power saws and equipment I finally leaned outside my balcony to unplug for weeks. The contractor said he expects more money if hes going to keep working so hes filing a lawsuit to get it. We have not been able to go outside, use our deck, patio or backyard since May. The contractor has been using our water and electricity since May. Premiers position was, its not that much.
