I would neither recommend this funeral home or use them again. When they came to the house to pick up my mom's body, we were told that it would take slightly longer due to the Labor Day holiday. That was understandable. When my dad and I went in to do the paperwork, a couple of days later, we were told that it would take 5-7 business days to get the ashes and death certificates. That seemed normal, as that was slightly longer than it took to get my mother-in-law's ashes 1 1/2 years ago. Well, after seven business days my dad called and questioned them only to be told that they had not gotten anything signed by the doctor. After 2 more business days the delay was blamed on the ************************ After 23 days my father was finally able to pick up the ashes. This is unacceptable! We wanted to hurry through the process so that we could have closer faster, instead having the process strung out kept the feelings fresher longer. Also, nothing else legally could be done until the death certificates arrived -- we could not close accounts or claim her life insurance. Unfortunately you do not think about checking on funeral homes, but I am hoping to spare others this added pain. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!Review from Andriya P

42 days. This is how long it took my grandmother to get cremated which, according to *** at the Springs Funeral Services, is their norm and the industry standard. We know this to be untrue as we have had two other deaths in the family during this time and they each only took 4 days-at different funeral homes. After the third week, we tried to contact *** and had to leave 5 messages over the course of another 3 weeks before attempting to go up the chain of command for answers. One of the reasons we were trying to get ahold of *** was that the obituary we submitted was incorrect on their website therefore, I havent been able to share the obituary with family. My husband got ahold of Toms boss, ****, who said that they were still waiting for signatures to do the cremation-which had already been submitted and verified by *** on February 9th. **** promised to call back and never did-when we finally called her back she was scoffing, and irritated by having to listen to our concerns. She ensured grandma would be cremated the next day. Her boss, ***********************, was supposed to contact me regarding this nightmare. 5 more days passed, and I had to call back and spoke to ******, the only person who seemed helpful and compassionate about our situation. She was able to verify that grandma had finally been cremated. I had to make an appointment with *** to pick her up. *** basically said that he never received our numerous messages and would not have called us back anyway because he only promised two calls-death certificate ready and cremated remains ready. *** said that he couldnt find the original obituary that was submitted and that we should have been ok with idea of grandma being in a refrigerator for 5 weeks because, again, in Toms words, its industry standard to take 5 weeks. I am completely disgusted and disappointed with the negligence that my grandmother received with this place. This has put a stain on my memory associated with our already devastating loss.Review from Oscar T

We been having issues with this funeral home, it's been 2 months and they still have not been able to transport my father to ******, I had to personally go to the consulate to finish paperwork. Now my family is trying to ************ because they're just incompetent people. If I could go back in time I would choose a different funeral home.Review from Debbie A

The service for my husband was handled very unprofessional. Recorded music played over our singer. The video tape did not start on time. We had to go tell them to hit play. They had our family get up for a last goodbye in front of everyone who attended and then walk by everyone to reach their family room. Wait until they closed the coffin and then all of us walk back to the front by everyone again. When the speaker did not get up right away the director came to me in front of everyone with a paper asking what I could do. Just announce her name like you are in charge. It was stressful in an already stressful situation. The director who had worked with us did not show for the service which didnt help.Review from Michele S

My grandpa passed away this year, this funeral home was the only one to answer and was willing to help with the process. Weve been trying to get my grandpa to ****** and it has been over a month waiting. They keep misinforming us with where theyre at in the process and have been rude in the last few phone calls. Weve caught them in the lies by calling the consulate in ****** and even a staff from there called the funeral home. They told us they were very rude to them as well, and found out they were completing the process incorrectly. If it wasnt for that call from the consulate, the funeral home would have tried to send my grandpa to ****** without the right permits and paperwork. Most likely, we wouldve been stuck with those expenses due their mistakes.Review from Katrina S

When my mom passed away at home, they went above and beyond with her care. The whole staff was compassionate and professional through every step and I couldnt have asked for more. Now for my complaint About three years after her passing, I received a phone call from a collection agency demanding money for a **** at Springs Funeral Home. Interesting since it had been paid off for quite some time. I contacted the funeral home and after a week of back and forth, they agreed that it was a mistake. The end. Right? Wrong. Today (11/3/21) (nearly 7 years after her passing), I received another phone call from the same collection agency demanding over $500 for Springs Funeral Home. REALLY?! Why do they keep trying to come after me for a **** that has been paid off for over 5 years? I will be showing up on their doorstep today to address this yet again. But my advice for anyone would be to hang on to your receipts for this place - for many years. Because you never know when theyll try to come back on you for an already paid invoice. Such a shame because everything else was handled so well.
