I attended this ** career college during short period of time which was 2 months back in 2015 . I was enrolled in medical assistance and overcharged ridiculous fees for the time I attended and now years later Iam being harrassed over and over va email and phone when I currently staying with a family member taking care of my daughter alone and I an unemployed I also applied for Student loan forgiveness and apparently this school is a rip off and could care less if I am homeless and jobless all they tend to give a flying fuck about is MONEY for an incomplete schooling the classes are a joke and books overpriced. I demand a stop to this school from contacting me for money. I need the loan dismissed/dischargedReview from Jorge P

Due to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”), we are unable to respond in specific detail regarding Mr. *******’s claims. FERPA is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. As Mr. ******* posted his review to the Better Business Bureau (“BBB”) public page, we cannot respond in detail in this forum to protect his privacy regarding his situation. Therefore, our response will be general in nature to provide a better understanding of the School’s processes. It should be noted that all programs vary at different colleges and universities regarding a student’s eligibility for federal student aid. Career training programs such as our Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (“HVAC”) are less than one year and federal student aid does not cover 100% for programs that are not the traditional length, as in two-year and four-year degree programs. The School’s financial planning department assists students in developing financial plans for their education through a combination of loans, grants, scholarships, family contributions and other sources of aid. Students willingly apply for funding and must provide written approval for their student account to receive the funding. Students are aware of their financial responsibilities prior to starting at the School. The School’s financial department does not “threaten” students regarding their remaining student account balance. However, if an unpaid balance remains on the student’s account, the School makes efforts to contact students regarding their balance to avoid their account being sent to collections. In lieu of a full response in this forum, we request that Mr. ******* discuss his student account concerns with the School’s Director of Student Finance at ###-###-####. Mr. ******* may also contact the School’s complaint hotline, the Answer Program at ###-###-#### to discuss his concerns in detail.Customer Response

Very upset with the ************* location. Miscommunication and misrepresentation when it comes to their financial aid. They have the student fill out an enrollment agreement that shows one amount then we get the student funding plan that shows a different amount. Then they tell the students a month before they are to complete their schooling that they still owe money. Very unprofessional and do not wish anyone to go through what my son is going through right now. Especially with students that have mental health issues and do not comprehend 100%. Because of this miscommunication on their part we now have to pay over $1300 before my son will be able to get his diploma/certificate. Please do your research and look at reviews before having your child go to any school. It can make a huge difference.Florida Career College Response

Due to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”), we are unable to respond in specific detail regarding Ms. ********’ son. FERPA is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. As Ms. ******** posted her review to the Better Business Bureau (“BBB”) public page, we cannot respond in detail in this forum to protect her son’s privacy regarding his situation. Additionally, the School cannot discuss a student’s information with another party without written consent from the student. Ms. ******** states that the student has a disability which limits comprehension. Due to FERPA, the School cannot address the specifics of this statement. The School complies with all local, state, and federal laws barring discrimination to ensure an equal opportunity for admissions is extended to all persons, and requests for reasonable accommodations are addressed as needed. Ms. ******** further claims that her son is unable to obtain his diploma. Prospective students are advised at the time of enrollment that the “Diploma will be issued after the completion of the entire program and all tuition and fees are paid in full.” The School is in contact with students regarding their student account balance on a frequent basis. Students also have the opportunity to view their student account balance at any time during their education. Our policy is that students must be current with their loan payments for transcript requests, but does not require that the loan be paid in entirety. This policy is in full compliance with all federal and state regulations, and is no different than most other accredited institutions. The federal government also makes it clear to students that a transcript may be withheld when the student is not current on financial obligations to a school. The Department of Education Federal Student Aid webpage Student Loan Delinquency and Default https://studentaid.gov/manage-loans/default. Under “Consequences of Default” the information states: “Your school may withhold your academic transcript until your defaulted student loan is satisfied. The academic transcript is the property of the school, and it is the school's decision—not the U.S. Department of Education’s or your loan holder’s—whether to release the transcript to you.” Therefore, if Ms. ********’ son has a remaining balance on his student account, he must address the unpaid balance before receiving his documents. In lieu of a full response in this forum, we request that Ms. ******** direct the student to discuss his student account concerns with the School’s Director of Student Finance at ###-###-####. The student may also contact the School’s complaint hotline, the Answer Program at ###-###-#### to discuss his concerns in detail.Customer Response

We are already handling the situation and all i wanted to do is post a review so that if anyone is looking into your facility that they do a thorough check and make sure to get all the information before making a commitment so as to no miscommunication can be brought forward later on and someone has a balance bc of said miscommunication.Review from Celia C

Requested Anthem College transcripts to be sent to school of choice and they took my money and never sent the transcripts. The number on the paperwork to call for assistance just sends you straight to voicemail which feels a lot like a **** to me. You leave a message and you never get a reply back. I feel ******* out of my money spent.Review from Monica W

This school is a scam. And I have to pay for something I did not receive and that is an learning and training experience. I did not receive a job after. Cause the job they tried to place me in I did not learn anything that the job required and so when I was trying to get help from them. No one was able to help me. They are the most ignorant and unprofessional staff and I am so mad at myself for signing up for something that I thought that I will benefit from so now I'm stuck with a loan I have to pay and that's not fair.
