    I would not use this Superior *************************** My trust in how they conduct business is what has caused me to write a review. *****, who was initially sent to fix my hot water heater at a price of $175.00, was able to get the pilot light re-lit, of which only stayed lit for a few hours before going back out. ***** suggested replacing the burner assembly unit with the water heater being 16 years old. He however did not have the part; so I wound going online and ordering the part. Once I received the new burner assembly unit, ***** came back out at no additional cost and installed the unit. Upon doing so, the pilot only stayed lit again for a few hours before going back out. At that point, ***** told me to not invest any additional money into my hot water heater and replace it due to its age. I however, was not ready to do that and spoke with *****, a senior tech with Superior ************************** to try and trouble shoot the problem. In the end, I was told to replace the hot water heater at a cost of $1,600.00. Having been told this, I conducted further research to see why the pilot was not staying lit; especially after having a new burner assembly unit installed by *****. The only other possible issue could be a bad main control valve, of which is pretty rare, but it does happen. Upon learning this, I went ahead and ordered a new main control valve. Total cost in parts was only $225 for both the burner assembly unit and main control valve ( a far cry from $1,600.00). After I received the main control valve, I contacted another company, a friend of mine that I should've waited for initially, but was out of town and with my not having hot water, I went with Superior ************************** based on reviews I had read online. To make a long story short, the pilot light was not staying lit after the burner assembly unit was replaced due to ***** not properly installing the new burner assembly unit with this becoming apparent when I had another company look at my water heater. My trust was really tested with Superior ************************** pushing for me to replace the hot water heater when there was absolutely no need for it and things ultimately coming down to ***** not installing the new burner assembly unit correctly. With the new burner assembly unit now installed correctly by another company, my hot water heater runs just as it always has without issue. It honestly, makes me wonder as to whether or not things were sabotaged by Superior **************************'s tech's to get me to replace my hot water heater, because it's something the company pushes for, because there's a lot more profit in completely replacing appliances than there is in simply replacing the parts when they are available. The fact that the water heater is ********************************************************* that the water heater obviously has longevity; otherwise parts would still not be made for it, as is the case with many newer products that are built to be replaced in 10 or so years.In addition, I have contacted Superior ************************** requesting to speak with a manager regarding what I have outlined above, but have yet to hear back from a manager. My request would be a refund of the $175.00 that was paid to Superior ************************** due to their not installing the burner assembly unit correctly and causing me to potentially think that I needed to completely replace my hot water heater when there was absolutely no need to do so.
