I currently have over $20K in my checking account at ********************. On 1/27 I hired a contractor to demo a fiberglass bath/shower enclosure and we needed a drain plug wrench to remove the remaining portion. I drove to a local ********** to purchase the tool while my contractor was at my house working, I'm paying him on the hour. I gather the tools $48.00 worth and go to check out with my GESA Debit card. The cashier told me my card was declined, so I asked them to tyr iy again because I knew I had funds available. Declined 2 more times again. I drove to a nearby gas station to see if my card declined there and it did. Meantime my contractor is waiting for me and paying him to sit and do nothing. My wife is out of town and I couldn't reach her...finally she calls me and I drive back to ********** and she pays for the tools....she banks with US Bank. I paid my contractor for an hour of idle time at $120 an hour!!! On 1/28 I called the GESA number on back of card, employee said that she had no explanation why card was declined and said that there was a fraud issue and said ***** Services called my cell phone 7x without an answer, I never received any calls from GESA, she reactivated my card and told me to call back on 1/29. I called GESA on 1/29 and demanded to know why my card was declined on 1/27 at **********. I was told that GESA has determined that ALL TRANSACTIONS WITH ********** ARE FLAGGED AS POTENTIALLY FRADULENT AND CARDS ARE AUTOMATICALLY DECLINED! I've never heard anything so preposterous! Are you kidding me...GESA has the right to determine where I shop? SERIOUSLY, inconvenience me all you want, just turn my card off without forewarning me! Tomorrow I'm calling the Washington State Attorney General and ********** Corporate. We'll see if they agree with me that GESA stepped WAYYYYY out of bounds on this one...oh and I took a $120 hit as well from the contractor because I wasted an hour of his time!

They are scammers. Dont be fooled by low interest financing which is a total disaster. I financed my two vehicles with them and I am not sure if I overpaid but I know they charge you a crazy amount with what they call it interest rate only payment. Be careful about the hidden interest charge which by itself is a big reason to stop dealing with them but I learned the hard way. Above all, they dont care about your credit score. I properly completed / paid my loan but at the end, my credit score messed up for no reason. My payment history is perfect but my credit fell down just after paying off and I am trying two fix that issue yet. Did they report my payment? I dont think so for I know that they dont care at all though they said, they did. Also, they asked me to open a saving account in the beginning of my auto loan, which I did and they didnt say anything or I didnt hear any info about my account even after I paid of my loan. I just remembered now. Anyway, dont try to finance or refinance, believe me they are a disaster. You pay higher and after all your credit score will be f up.

Not only are the overdraft fees ridiculous, they've used online information to contact family members that i'm not regularly associated with when i owe them some money. And don't overpay for your vehicle loan or they'll stop the auto pay and let pre collections notify you about all the money that you "owe" them or double charge payments. Why?

GESA IS A SCAM. THEY STEAL MONEY FROM PEOPLE AND HOLD CASH FROM THEIR clients do not use them. Terrible company. They have no manners and dont care when people steal money from the accounts because they do the same with over drafts and refusing payments.

40+ year customer here. Same story as most of you. Went from terrific service and support to absolute ineptness especially during the last 3-5 years. Feel bad that I actually recommended this credit union to people before the merging disaster of the last decade. To be fair the employees working the the branch locations are nice enough, although it seems any issue is fumbled around like it is the first time they have ever heard of it in banking history. Sadly making the move to USAA and *******

I am writing to express my deep frustration and disappointment regarding the ongoing issues I have encountered while attempting to make a significant payment on my GESA **** card.I made two attempts to process a payment in early November using the online credit card payment section of their portal. Unfortunately, the payment was never withdrawn from my local account and posted to my GESA **** card as intended. Subsequently, on Thursday, November 16th, I called for assistance. During this attempt, a GESA representative guided me through the online GESA credit card payment portal, and I successfully made a $10,000 payment (from the same credit union account that I have my monthly payment set up with, not GESA). The representative assured me that the payment was processed correctly and would be posted within a few business days.To my dismay, the payment did not reflect on my GESA **** even after six business days. I promptly contacted GESA once again, and another representative advised me to wait until Friday, November 24th, with the expectation that the payment would likely be posted by then.Regrettably, it has now been over 10 days since I made the $10,000 payment and over three weeks since my initial attempt to make a large payment on my ****. Yet, the funds remain in my hometown Credit Union, not yet posted to my GESA **** card. This extended delay has caused me considerable inconvenience and concern. This has been an ongoing issue all month and it is still not resolved even after several phone calls and posts on their portal. I can only assume they make it this difficult so that they can continue to collect enormous interest on the amont of my balance.

Our dealership finance department called to verify a pre approval rate as a courtesy to a mutual customer. (Customer believed that ****% was available on a 13 year old vehicle. It is not at GESA. ) After revealing a mutual customers intent to purchase a vehicle from my business, (To whom I was able to provide ****% rate) the branch manager ****** chose to incorrectly advise our customer that the business (my business) they planned on buying from, had 'too high' price and they were being taken advantage of. (obviously quoting an insufficient NADA **** value that literally disregards mileage at a 50% origin value and market prevalence) The '2010 ****** RAV4 V6 4WD Carfax 1 Owner' in question was under 100k and has a low market prevalence and quite literally I am selling at an incredible deal! In fact, after looking, the $10k he told our customers my vehicle was worth ONLY reflects a MUCH higher mileage category and lower grade. This is quite unprofessional and he very intentionally misinformed our customers who then returned and left feeling taken advantage of because they valued the opinion of this person. These people shopped online and determined we had a great deal! Came in to my store to buy and were approved!I would have a deal and the customers would have a great vehicle at a great price if not for GESA providing bad info These people have purchased from us in the past I may never see them again I am not over charging, I am providing an excellent service of hard to find, below average miles and above average condition vehicles I expect an apology. This is a blatant disregard of ethics. It is unacceptable breech of trust that fails the customer of knowledge beyond the single factor analysis provided by this individual. This advice was not provided in good faith or considerate of the used car market. The commodity market is unstable and the product offered and advised against purchasing is not represented in the condition, category or mileage locally.

Gesa is freaking terrible! I recently got married and changing my last name on my bank account was no problem. My car loan however has been an absolute nightmare. The first call center rep I talked to said it could all be done through docusignperfect and easy since my nearest branch is over an hour away. I drive to the *** because gesa told me to and they say they cant update my information without my title. I call gesa back and then get told no we cant do a docusign and your only option is to come in. They then say we are open on Saturdays and Im like well can you check that because your website says no. And she checks and goes oh your right. She then proceeds to tell me numerous amounts of misinformation so I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor told me if I go in the branch they can print out the two documents, I sign them and then they are notorized. I then give them a check for the *** and they take care of the rest. I had to take a day off work today to go and when I get there I tell the guy what I want to do.he seems confused and calls multiple departments he tried to tell me that he put in a request and I can come back in 2 days to do the paperwork. I told him absolutely not and that I cant keep taking days off because these people cant give straight factual information. He then put the escalated ticket in and somehow magically the forms were printed and ready to sign. I cannot believe you tell members to come back when its the simplest of documents to fill out. I just have zero confidence they will update my title. Have you never had anyone get married before? The lack of knowledge in this establishment is bizarre!!! I just feel so frustrated and really am mad with the level of service for being a long time member.

I bought a car with a loan through this credit union 3 months before the pandemic. My hotel was closed for 8 to 9 months, and unemployment ran out. The extra money was gone after 6months, and my credit cards and 401 K were cleaned out to make rent and car payment. I am now on a friend's couch as I was turned down for two apartments. My credit score is low of course and I have worked really hard to communicate with them. I have tried to trade the car in also tried to speak to them and refinance to get the 650$ payments lowered. There has been no help from them. They keep turning me down for help and I just received a call trying to collect payment. The guy stated I was 44 days late even when trying to tell him I have a confirmation number for the 680$ payment and stated not believing me. I feel like I am drowning and never been this scared. They have been no help and are quick to call when they want their money. I have asked management to call me but want to put this out there about my experience. The pandemic was traumatic enough and I have been hit hard. They have got me to a point where I feel helpless and distraught.

GESA Credit Union is a scam. I have financed a car for my 17y/o daughter and have one hassle after another with this credit union. I have submitted proof of comprehensive auto insurance to them multiple times. They constantly threaten me with fines, penalties if I do not submit the insurance. I recently received another message stating the most recent proof of insurance ( the paper document outlining all the deductible limits specifically for this car. They send me a paper document stating it "can't be from the wallet card" and has to have GESA listed as the lien holder. Never in the previous communication with them was this information requested. Its the actual paper documentation!!!!! My wife calls to resubmit with the lien holder listed, and they accuse her of not having insurance since purchase in July 2023, and she must provide proof from them. Let me remind you I am unable to procure a loan for this 11 year old vehicle without proof of comprehensive auto coverage. This company is purposely trying to make our life difficult in order to assign fines and penalties. I am also contacting the Washington State ************************* to file a formal complaint.
