BBB thanks Wells Fargo, a proud sponsor of the Student Ambassador Program!
What is the Student Ambassador Program?
The purpose of the Student Ambassador program is to bring information on scams and frauds to the entry-level consumer.
With high disposable incomes, young consumers are easy targets for scam artists. The Student Ambassador program is designed to train students to deliver this information to peer groups on campus. Student Ambassadors will receive two hours of training on the educational information that they will be asked to share. They will then have the opportunity to develop and deliver their presentation to a small peer group. Each Ambassador will be required to make the presentation to a minimum of two peer groups.
Why should you participate?
The program is strictly voluntary, and the student will receive a certificate upon completion of the program, designating them an official Student Ambassador of the Better Business Bureau and recognizing their contribution of volunteer time toward marketplace ethics. High school students can use the experience as a resume builder as well. The BBB also provides three scholarship incentives, ranging from $2,500 to $1,000, to the students who present to the greatest number of their peers. A recognition event is held annually to award certificates and scholarships.
The BBB would like to congratulate all of the 2013 Student Ambassador participants for their hard work and commitment to the program. For more information about the 2014 Student Ambassador Program and other scholarship opportunities, visit bbb.org or email Valerie Fichtler.
