I had used this service in 2021 with great results, this year the results were an absolute disaster and the moving company that was used was completely unable to do a decent job. I received no cooperation from the moving company and Hire A Helper offered a very sorry form of compensation after denying my claim considering the scope of damages that were incurred by me. I have moved over 20 times as an adult and have NEVER had a loss of damage so catastrophic. I provided moving pads, requested 3 times for assistance in dismantling the piece of furniture to ensure it did not sustain damage, I was assured that that would be done as it was necessary to properly pack my moving truck. I was denied for "not providing pads & strapping" . The pads I provided were not used and I had to discard them after the truck was packed. An antique table was not dismantled as requested and items were subsequently stacked on top of it which resulted in the total destruction of the table. In addition, no strapping would have prevented the damage because it wasn't going to prevent the excessive weight on top of it. In addition, a 2-4 hour job turned into 8, I was stuck and had to pay in order to completely vacate my apartment. I had to photograph my apartment for the landlord and other than some empty boxes that needed to be put into the recycle bin the apartment was empty but 1 of my pieces of furniture was not on the truck when I arrived at my destination. I have no idea where it went, it wasn't inside the apartment, on the truck or in the yar (I had someone check for me). I unfortunately had something packed inside the table that was of significant value which cannot be replaced. I was completely taken by a group of crooks and have no way to truly resolve what occurred. I would hate for anyone else to experience anything like this and hope this is a warning for others.

I filed a claim with them that they are denying when they are in the wrong . I will be getting a lawyer . They brought in guys randomly at the last min. that wasnt prepared with the right stuff . Loaded stuff on top of stuff that shouldnt of been . Took apart ******************* & didnt make sure all the pieces would fit first before loaded other things they just left parts of it back . So I was forced to get another container . If it wasnt going to fit then I could have done something with it but they didnt give that choice when part of it was already loaded packed so full you couldnt get it back out . It was a *************** they dont want to own up for the damage they caused . Never would I recommend them ever . I have to push a star but it doesnt deserve any .

I can't leave a negative review stars or I would hire a helper refuses to pay their suppliers for providers if you go out and you do a move for them they will s**** you over on your time it will s**** you over on your money they will steal everything they can from you they will send the companies out to unsafe positions where people are on safe and uncomfortable with the work environment and then make them do the work and if they don't they charge the company the amount of money for the move that they've already charged the customer

We are sorry to know your service did not go perfectly. The truck ramp is a crucial piece of equipment that allows the moving service provider to safely and efficiently unload your items; doubly so for freight trailers due to their height.

Started off reading the reviews for this company and there are a lot of bad ones. I wouldn't be surprised if they paid for the 5 stars. First, their pricing is outrageous $1,900 for a 1 floor 3 bedroom house. Second they make you prepay before the service which should have been a warning but I was in a rush to move. Third they broke my k**** off my dresser and 2 of the drawers on my entertainment center. I wouldn't be surprised they make you prepay so its harder to fight them when they damage your property.

They are not a good company and customer service is poor. They estimated 4 hours with 2 men. The move took 2 hours. Even if they added an hour of travel time to and from pickup and drop off they would need to refund 1 hour. Unfortunately they make you prepay and it is their policy to not refund. They blamed their subcontractors and not themselves. If they cared about their customers and not just making money they would give a reasonable estimate on the lower side and then charge more if necessary. I do not recommend this company. I am sure there are plenty of other choices.

      ******,

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear the move went well smoothly and understand your frustration about the pricing. Within the HireAHelper marketplace, the moving providers are able to manage their business profiles by setting their own company policies allowing customers to compare the prices, policies, and customer reviews of each provider listed.

Your reservation for two movers with a truck blocked off a set amount of time from the moving provider to ensure they were dedicated to the success of your move. Please let us know if you encountered any issues with the service they provided.

If I could give negative stars I would. I don't know how they get any stars at all. I hired my movers through Hire-a-helper and the movers were horrible. They guy that loaded my pod did so much damage, basically throwing my belongings in, no strategy just wanted done. I put a negative review out when they asked me for a review and in response was offered a $75 refund, a very small refund for what I paid and what happened, but whatever. My move was 5/24 and the refund was offered 6/6. On 6/20 I asked where my refund was and was told it takes 3-5 days. It had been two weeks so he said he would check.... response was "it was stuck in the system". What???? Ok, whatever..... give it couple of days I was told. On 6/26, they actually CHARGED me (through PayPal) $75!!!!! WTF???? So now they owe me $150 and I can't get anyone to help me. I'm told they paid PayPal and it's their fault. What???? I'm passed around from person to person who claims they'll help and call me back etc. NOPE! Now it's JULY ************************* the $75 they stole from me. How can you do that and how does PayPal let them? BUYER BEWARE!!!! If you want to get stuck in a never ending circle of absurdity and fraud then this is your company. If you just want help moving from honest people, GO ELSEWHERE!!!!

No! No! No!,, just don't hire anybody from this company. That being said, I'm guessing that at different cities there's different local providers so maybe some are good but I certainly ran into the most horrid experience possible.I schedule to move out of the truck into my home at ************ ********** so beware if you're anywhere near this area.To start with it was supposed to begin between 8:00 and 9:00 AM they arrived around 11:30am. I was called and told they had an employee call in sick so apparently they only had two. When they showed up it was an average size fellow and approximately a 75-year-old very skinny woman. As you know it really takes muscle to move furniture and she just didn't have any. This put a bigger burden on the fellow who was just an average size guy. The end result was he tried to take up the load and it overloaded him ************ was scratched and dented and so was my house as he attempted to move the furniture. Because of the lack of muscle between the pair that were sent to do the work it was very slow going. They did get the truck empty but they didn't get things placed around the house and their time had run out. I wasn't willing to pay another $140 for them to move things around so I had them leave. This left me to do that heavy work going up and down stairs which is primarily why I hired them so I wouldn't have to do that. There were several conversations with the local business owner that we could say were not conducted in the business professional manner. They adamantly denied that the male employee had no record so I called the officer back to verify and he was absolutely sure that their worker did have a record.

When originally calling to set up this order the unload help was for Wednesday July 12th! In subsequent text messages Tuesday the 11th was mentioned ( after having read them while driving our U-Haul down at gas stop! I immediately called and was told there was nothing I could do, that if I had responded to the texts and corrected the date I could have avoided the cancellation! I can accept blame for some of this but not all! To charge a cancellation fee that was over half the purchase amount is Criminal!I will NEVER recommend Any of your services again! We are in our 70s and with all the money we paid out to get moved back home and to have this happen is heartbreaking! We had to borrow money from a relative to finally get our truck unloaded! What a heartless company you are running!*** & ***********************!
