This is for the Emergency Room-We are not from the area and took my father here. He had 2 heart attacks and irregular heart beats, he also has dementia. The ** staff made us feel extremely unwelcome. They would not allow us to switch out with my mother so that she could eat and rest while someone else sat with my father. She had been with him since 11p.m. the night before, it was now 10a.m., they had only provided her crackers. The Chaplain took one of us in so that she could eat, my mother came out. After 2 hours we tried switching with my sister as my fathers dementia gets a bit aggressive, the ** staff would not allow it, they told us no switch outs and that my mother could not go back in as well. The charge nurse was giving these instructions. We asked to speak with the charge nurse, when he did come out he was breathing hard and had his hands in a fist. the way he addressed us was aggressive. He stated there would be no more visitors for my dad, they were assigning a nurse to sit with him. He proceeded to say that with us there they could not provide safe care for my father. We asked how *** were impeding his self care, he avoided the question and said again no more visitors. We asked how would we get updates, he stated we could call and speak to someone. The ** staff acted like we were a hindrance the entire time. They kept looking at us the entire time we were there as if we were impeding their daily functions, all we did was sit outside and waited for our father. When he was finally discharged, they called us and said to hurry up and come get him, they would not allow us to go in the room and see if all belongings were picked up. They also brought out my 89 year old father without his jacket, on an evening that was cold. Their attitude and professionalism was hideous.
