WEST SACRAMENTO, CALIF., – On Saturday, May 6, 2017 Barry Denis Goggin, former President and CEO of Better Business Bureau Sacramento (BBB Sacramento), passed away at his home in Wilton, California. He is survived by his wife and family.
“It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to a colleague and close friend who meant so much to the BBB community nationwide, and to local business leaders, consumers, media, and government agencies,” said Lynn Conner, interim President and CEO of BBB Sacramento.
In addition to his 40-year career as President, Goggin was one of three that helped pioneer the development and implementation of a BBB system-wide Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) program, and served nearly 20 years on the ADR committee. He also served on the BBB National Executive Committee for more than 15 years, and was inducted into the BBB Hall of Fame in 2014.
“In honor of his memory, BBB Sacramento is establishing an annual scholarship fund of $5,000,” added Conner.
Our staff remembers Barry for his boisterous laugh, colorful stories, and dedication to the Better Business Bureau mission.
