About Blair Diamond:
“Dog” was Blair Diamond’s first word. From a very young age, he has held a passion for dogs, and over the years, this passion naturally formed the foundation for his lifelong devotion to the pet services industry. Along this road, Blair has gathered extensive experience working with dogs in various capacities: He attended the American College of Applied Science, where he received training in animal behavior analysis. He has trained with a number of Master Trainers throughout the United States to refine and perfect his unique, personalized approach to training. Blair has worked with police dogs, led the industry in dogs trained to detect bed bugs, and has personally and professionally helped thousands of dogs (and owners) across the country overcome all types of behavioral challenges. In addition to this, Blair consults with veterinary staff as well as dog daycare staff on a continual basis in order to help instruct them on how to best care for dogs in their respective professions, especially those presenting with unique behavioral challenges.

Blair now prefers to train dogs in Mount Shasta, CA, where it provides the dogs in his care the necessary atmosphere to rehab, reboot, and focus on their primal needs in nature, helping each to become calm and balanced: the cornerstones of his training approach.

Blair’s Training Philosophy
All of the programs offered by Primal Needs Behavioral Solutions have been specially designed to address the underlying causes of a dog’s misbehavior, not just the symptoms. Blair’s unique, personalized approach differs from obedience training, where a dog is taught simply to obey commands, such as sit, stay, or heel. He instead focuses on instilling in the dog an understanding of his/her place in the relationship between human and dog, a mindset that is crucial to a dog’s emotional health and wellbeing. When a dog is in this state, s/he is calm and balanced, has learned to follow the owner’s energy, and has a natural orientation towards appropriate behavior in all situations. Previous unwanted behaviors, such as extreme aggression, obsessive behaviors, anxiety-driven reactions, all begin to disappear as this state of calm and balance sets in. An integral part of this process is also working with a dog’s owner, and so considerable time is dedicated to helping the owner build the leadership and communication skills necessary to enable the dog to maintain that state.
