Ive been trying to just log into my account and the phone numbers they have listed for security purpose are not mine or any number I know, I tried calling to fix it and no hope, registering my account was also a pain, makes me not wanna bank with them no more if even the simplest things dont work.Coastal Credit Union Response

I called in about a fraudulent transaction on my account. My card was cancelled and a new one was sent out. I didn't here back from costal and decided to to check my e-docs. I saw I received a letter stating it was denied. I called and was told it was denied due to a pin being used???? I was then transferred to a rep who was frustrated and annoyed that I was transferred to her. I told her I could sense her frustration and to allow me to speak to someone else . She actually hung up on me. I know that the coastal customer service has a reputation for not so great customer interactions, but to actually hang up me while discussing my money is very disappointing. I only want to understand how this happens and why my bank isn't trying to find out.Coastal Credit Union Response

Coastal reviewed the members concern and reached out to the member three times via the contact information provided in the complaint. Coastal apologized for the members experience and explained that we have involved the ************** manager to review calls and coach the employee on Coastals service standards and expectations. I recently called customer service to request an early release of my direct deposit work check. I explained that we had severe storm damage and all of our food had to be trown out. We habe been without power for 2 days. I have recently been diagnosed with congestive heart failure and am diabetic. They were unable to help me. I have been a customer for over 10 years. So disappointed. As a credit union they boast about helping the community. But can not help their loyal customers. My husband and I both had pending direct deposits. How hard is it to give me my money?Review from Chuck P

This bank is quickly going downhill. My employer recently changed over payroll services and copied over the old information EXACTLY. Fast forward to payday and no paycheck. Call the sorry excuse for customer support and they cant find it even with the checks tracer code, verifying the account and routing number. Finally get a supervisor on hold only for him to callously inform me that the direct deposit system is down and he cant predict the future on when itll be back up and running. EVERY. SINGLE. EMPLOYEE. At the company had ZERO issues changing over but I was the ONLY ONE to not receive a f****** paycheck for my hard work. If you cant trust a bank to get their s*** together when it comes to properly processing a f****** paycheck then turn around and provide a blas excuse while acting like they could care less that theyre at fault then why bank with them in first place?Coastal Credit Union Response

I closed my account a few months ago, due to constant issues with my debit card not working and sitting on hold for an hour each time I called. Along with countless other issues over the years that I had an account. A deposit was submitted to them for a refund from a retailer, instead of rejecting it due to the checking account being closed, they reopened my savings account and accepted the deposit, without notifying me or any type of consent. Now, I am being told that unless i drive over an hour to one of their branches i cant access MY money. If you are looking to open an account t here, RUN. This is the most discriminating racial profiling Bank I've been to in 2023.I experience the most humiliating experience of my life as a black transgender. I decided today that I would go and cash a money order with the bank. called Coastal's customer service the bank verified that i would be able cash my money order because I am qualifying customer with them same day .I get to the bank to cash the money order ,& they tell me they cannot cash it immediately. after looking at me. the branch manager, ******* ******* I would like to cash the money order or I would like to receive half! she completely ignored me and told me I have to wait till tomorrow until funds clear then she'll release it with sarcasm after asking how much would I need so I was trying to explain now feeling humiliated, dehumanized, I was racial profiled discriminated against not just by her front desk clerk .so as I'm letting her know the reason why my balance is at zero is because the bank let someone take $100 from my deposit from ***** disappeared. I thought about moving my SSI to Coastal Federal Credit Union so I can build history with them. if I didn't keep a part-time job which I received direct deposits that way. As well which They can see on my profile benefits. since I didn't have money in my account! that she cannot provide me with anything!Just because I don't have anything in the account ZERO BLACK TRANSGENDER .I meet the standards MY ACCOUNT ISNT NEW very misleading as the branch manager and employers surround up at the front desk as if I'm a circus show to watch me as I am on the video call with the teller explaining what is going on so she provides me with a copy of everything and apologizes that I went through that at all leaving out of the angry and sad all at once some people shouldn't be able to work certain jobs because the way they treat certain individuals they should reassemble the team cuz a lot of them seem unqualified and unprofessional the cameras can attestCoastal Credit Union Response

Coastal strives to respect everyone who walks in our door regardless of age, race, sex, income level, religion, politics, or identity. Coastal was saddened to hear how our member felt upon leaving the branch. Coastal attempted to contact our member on several occasions via phone and email to discuss their experience. According to our internal review, Coastal handled the transaction details in question based on the account history and in accordance with our Funds Availability Policy. I am absolutely appalled with a conversation I had with **** ******* today. I signed up for a CD online. I called today to follow up. I received the paperwork via docusign. I called to get clarification about information in the paperwork. **** was highly unprofessional. He was huffing and sighing over the phone while speaking to me as though I was bothering him. His tone was absolutely unprofessional. I have been with coastal since my days in college working as a temp at ***. I have NEVER been spoken to in such an unprofessional tone when dealing with this organization. I am outdone with this person's attitude. I have requested a supervisor contact me regarding this situation. I am positively shocked! I have multiple investment and retirement accounts with this organization and have done so for years. It seems the level of customer service is going down. Earlier I spoke to someone in this same department and she had me on speaker phone asking me to verify my identity. Another time I went into the branch on ******** *** and the person kept telling me that I have had my account longer than he has been living. If that is the case, I expect to be treated with respect. Another person answered the member services line while chewing her food and slurping a drink. These unprofessional behaviors really need to be addressed. This used to be a valued institution. It seems that I need to shop around and move my funds elsewhere. I am sorely disappointed.Review from Value P

This credit union has fees after fees, I got fed up and decided to close my accounts. They are giving me the hardest time closing my accounts. Ive been trying for 3 days now and somebody on the secure messages is not wanting to after I spoke on the phone with the reps and they too find it weird that this lady named ****** ****** wont do her job. On September 26th, 2022 we received a nock at the door around 1:00 -1:30 from a gentle man..... Stating that he was here to pick up our ****** *****...."REALLY ". We've been dealing with Costal Federal Credit Union about whether we have Insurance on the vehicle for about 6 or 7months now. We have always had Insurance on our vehicles, we have Insurance and we have provide all of the documents at the sell of the vehicle and them after two months Costal Federal Credit Union comes back and ask us for proof of insurance and we have fax over all documentation to show proof of insurance during the dates that they required that we show which was 03/15/2022 - 5/30/2022. During the course of time coastal Federal credit union stated that they would charge us insurance until we provided them with the proper documentation, showing proof of insurance. And we have provided all information from our insurance provider even with insurance coverage Stating that we have Insurance coverage for the dates that were provided by coastal Federal Credit union.
