I contracted with A Better Choice to install an interior foundation drain system at my house. Contract signed on 9-10-21 in the amount of $ 15,850 Work started on Monday 10-25-21. At time of estimate,. salesman told me the job would take 4 to 5 days, when the work crew arrived the foreman told me the job would take 3 to 4 days. At time of estimate, I provided information to the salesman as to where the discharge water was to be routed and physically walked the property with him to show him the exact location of the gutter run going to the back of our house and into a wooded area, which is where I told him specifically I wanted the discharge water to be sent. As the job progressed, I checked the progress when I got home from work @ 5 pm on 10-25-21 and noticed the job was moving at a good pace and appeared proper. I told my wife I would be home at lunch time the next day- Tuesday 10-26-21- to go over the job with the foreman to insure everything was understood as far as the discharge water, etc. When I arrived at home on Tuesday at noon, the workers had completed the job, cleaned up, left. I never got a chance to talk with them, even though I was told the job was at least 3 days. I noticed the discharge water was running out onto the front street, not as I had instructed to the back yard. I called John ( I think he is the owner) and he told me the salesman doesn't run the job, that the foreman decides where to run the drains. I told him the runoff water is causing an extremely dangerous situation at the front of our driveway and makes access to our mailbox and trash pickup very dangerous. Additionally I was told by the Elizabeth Township zoning officer that township code does not permit any discharge water other than actual roof rainwater from gutters to discharge to the street, so the installation is not only dangerous , it is illegal I want the discharge water re- routed to the backyard as I specified at the time the contract was bid.
