I had inquired a loan from this company last year and fell behind on a few payments that resulted in my account being transferred to their small claims department. I was put on a biweekly payment plan of $88.27 and made my last payment of $264 in May of this year. I spoke with a representative there named **** who had advised me that the total remaining balance was the $264 so I paid it off. I received a letter in the mail from a debt collector that my account had been solved to a third party to collect of $1222.00. I called Southwest Title loans today and spoke with ****** who verified that my account was paid off and should have not been sold to a third party but since she was not the individual who accessed my account 7 months, she would have to speak with **** to verify why my account was sold. **** called me back and stated that I had one more payment of $89 dollars and claims she made a phone call to me to collect, which is not true because I had paid them off in May. She said she could not verify our conversation from 7 months ago and it was not her responsibility to check my voicemail and since they couldn't collect on the $89 through small claims court, they sold my entire debt to a third party for the full amount again. She refused to help fix it and advise me to call the third party. Not only did they steal my money from Nov 2022 to May 2023, but they are now trying to charge me the full amount again over $89 dollars. I never once received a call, email, or letter from southwest regarding this amount like they normally would. This is unfair and this company has committed fraud.
