Unfortunately, I am sad to say our experience with Heritage homes has not been the best. This is a brand new community. Let me first start off with the backyard. Our backyard is a swamp. It retains so much water due to drainage issues. Meritage has pretty much ignored the issue, they attempted to install French drains, which has not fixed the issue at all. The front of our house at the end of our driveway has sitting water that has algae and it never goes away. We have brought up this issue since the first day we moved in. This has not been resolved, and we are not the only house that has this problem. The flooring in our house is warped. We brought up this issue two times and they denied our warranty for the first year. They pretty much blamed it on us. We have talked to other neighbors and they have had the same issue. One of our neighbors was able to get it fixed. So Im not sure why ours was denied. We were promised to have an Olympic size pool for the community. Now we are down to a resort, size pool that actually looks like a kitty pool thats only 4 feet deep. I highly recommend if youre looking to buy a new home, please do your research, ******** over promises but under delivers. I am really disappointed because I was really excited to live in this community but now I feel so disappointed.Review from Jocasa R

I absolutely concur with the poor customer service ratings ******************** has received. I cannot tell you how much I wish I never purchased a Meritage home. I have sent emails, chased down Community Supervisors, and marched over the main office only to be told it is my fault that things haven't been done because I didn't notify everyone, and those I did notify never shared the information. The shoddy and subpar workmanship is another huge issue that Meritage refuses to acknowledge. I have plumbing pipes that were set incorrectly in my guest bathroom so now my floors have to be jackhammered up for them to be reset correctly so my toilet and shower/tub drain properly. I'm sure somehow that is my fault also. I truly wonder why this was not caught by the Codes Inspectors and why construction was allowed to continue?Truly disgusted and now I have to hire a Civil Attorney just to get this "warranty" work completed. Dragging their feet is not an exaggeration, it's an unbelievable nightmare! $280,000 for this house is the worst money I have ever spent!Review from Aaron H

I own 2 Meritage homes in a community and feel as though they are intentionally prolonging their fix of items covered under warranty. I had originally submitted repair requests, and was "added to the repairs list" for issues acknowledged by their warranty repair team but have not been able to get a response from them since. It has been over a year at this point, and there is a known issue with their siding crew affecting several houses in the neighborhood, so the delay could be leading to a worse overall problem.I fear they are intentionally ignoring me to allow their liability time to run out. I understand there were delays due to COVID, but that supply shortage has since been remedied to my understanding.Review from Linda C

Meritage Homes's workmanship building my house has been a nightmare and it hasn't been any better in repairing their poor workmanship! Where my wall meets the ceiling started cracking about six months after move in. They repaired the main areas but waited until my year to repair the other areas. By that time, the main areas were cracking again so they had to repair it again. Last month, less than 4 months later, it's cracking again throughout the house and Meritage refuses to fix it.I'd appreciate any remedies one might have to force Meritage to correct their poor workmanship.Review from Eh H

We purchased a meritage home in ******************, ************, *****. And have nothing but lies with the construction manager *****************. Our dryer was wired wrong and burnt up. They won't own up to replacing dryer. And hasn't come back to complete other stuff. **** has been very difficult to work with. And yes **** you know who this is.Review from Zhengshan Y

I would leave zero or negative stars if the system allows. We purchased a Meritage new home in 2019 and have been having way way way more problems/issues than our previous house that was 13 years old. And everyone with the ****** floor plan in the neighborhood had the same issues. Even worse, they do not treat homeowners equitably. Stay away from this builder.Review from Lisa M

Run! Do not buy a home from Meritage. Poor quality, poor customer service. The worse experience I have ever encountered in purchasing a home. Neighbors are just as disgusted. Mold in master bedroom from some type of leak in master bathroom shower. 32 days after moving in, and their "super" tells me to put it in the "portal."If you are considering buying a Meritage home- please door knock in Canyon Views Litchfield. If I can save one person from making the mistake we did, I would feel a little better.Review from Victor M

Everything good until one year warranty expiries. As Meritage home customer you will expect to replace the entire wood floor within first 3 years. Before year of warranty expired, we put ticket to fix the flooring . It was "repaired" and few months later we had the same issue. So now of course is out of warranty and the issue was never fixed from the root cause, which is poor material used. (But homes are not cheap!)Third party **************** confirmed to us floor material used is poor along with poor installation and that the only solution is to replace the entire floor. We have put a ticket to meritage recently and they quickly rejected and confirmed it was out of warranty. They also confirmed it was not structural issue by email and without sending any inspector.I am not used to put any review but wanted to make sure any future customer is aware of this. I can also confirm this is not an isolated issue and other customers in neighborhood had same issue.
