Purchased a hottub ********* ******** on October 1st 2017 from Cobra Pool & Spa (Perth, Ontario). In September 2020, we started to experience leaks and water emptying. Several calls were made and they sent repair crews 3 times in the first 6 months to address the leak issue and they confirmed this issue was under warranty. They could not fix it. They decided to change all the jets at the end of the winter. It took until the summer to order those jets because it was so busy. It did not fix the problem. The crew came back and tried to fix the jet leak again. It is still leaking so I stopped the hot tub. I copied ********* on my emails, never heard from them. Cobra stated twice they were waiting to hear for *********, more than a month ago, no news. I have paid for refilling the tub all winter because of the leak and the electricity to heat the water to 100, as they were going to fix it, my patio and the tub are now damaged by water leak after a year, i want a refund.

One star is being kind. 2 Cobra employees turned up to open our 24ft above ground pool in May 2021. They were here 20 minutes. They pulled off our cover and dumped all the leaves and standing water into the pool. They added a small amount of chemicals, hooked up the pump and left without running anything or saying a word to us. It took me a week to clear out the dead leaves dumped into the pool and my own chemicals to bring remove the algae and adjust chlorine and PH levels to where someone could safely enter it. On a subsequent call the owner refused to consider a discount and went so far as to blame the company who closed the pool the previous September for all the leaves in it the following Spring - figure that one out. To top all off, they sent us to collections 10 days later. I am not kidding. Don't touch this company with a 10 foot skimmer pole.

COBRA Pools & Spas Inc. Response

Customer called same day that our staff opening his pool. He explained that the pool company he used last spring had drained his pool & trucked in fresh new water, so therefore, so they were able to swim in it right away. There was a winter cover on the pool with multiple holes in it so debris would go into the pool from fall to spring & it would take a few days for the water to clear up. The discoloured water from the pigment of leaves that were in the pool from the fall closure (done by another company) . He indicated in this email that it took him a week to take leaves out, this could not be right as he called me the day of the opening & I personally went out 3 days after the pool opening to see sparkling clear water. His pool are located close to the main road, therefore, can be viewed from the road by anyone driving by. Homeowner indicated to me that the winter cover was taken off & thrown beside the fence, This is not the case, the cover was treated with cover cleaner & neatly folded up & placed beside the shed. Have no idea where he came up about us sending to collections, this is not true at the present time. Possibly he has it confused with another company trying to collect $$ from him. The invoice is standard fee for above ground pool opening with chemicals & service fee (min fee) $341.02 (includes hst) We have received 0 to date towards this invoice. He indicated he would pay small portions over a 2 year time. This is unacceptable. After thoroughly reviewing the situation, our invoice is fair & in line with the hundreds of pools we open. We do advise that if the pool opening invoice dated May 20, 2021 is not paid in FULL by June 28, 2021 (more than normal 30 days allowed) we shall be taking it to Collections or Small Claims Court. ** ** *** ******* **** **** ****** *** ***** *** *** ** * ***** ** *** * ******** ** ********* ** ******** *** **** ********* * **********  Maybe there is a reason he is no longer dealing with the other company from last year, possibly same issues as we are having ????????? Makes one wonder ???????? FYI His wife asked us at time of pool opening to give her information on a heater, this is odd if not happy with work ????????????

    Customer Response

We are very happy with the previous pool service company. Unfortunately they were not available to open our pool this season due to being extremely busy. We actually had to spend $200 on new filter sand and chemicals with that company to fix the mess that Cobra left our pool in. As usual, they were very helpful and got us up-and-running. Did I expect to swim in the pool the same day? Of course not, but having to spend 2 weeks cleaning it up after-the-fact to get it in a useable state was just not acceptable. And there are no holes in our pool cover. Cobra needs to own up to the fact that they sent 2 employees who just did not want to be here and did as little as possible before they drove away without any communication as to what was done and if everything was in working order. That pretty much says it all. Stop blaming other pool service companies and clients and get better staff.
