    To Whom it May Concern, I have had a horrible buying experience with Holiday Ford Lincoln LTD. I enquired about a used Mazda CX-5 Signature on March 13th, 2024. I began talking with a sales representative, ******* *********, about the vehicle. **** informed me that the vehicle was indeed still for sale, at the advertised price of $29699+tax. I explained to **** that I live 3.5 hours away, and that there would be a lot of phone tag involved. I told **** that I was very interested, and that I would be willing to come down Saturday, March 16th to have a look and hopefully purchase the vehicle. I told **** that I would enquire with my insurance and talk things over with my family. The following morning, March 14th, and informed him that I did not mind sending a deposit to hold the vehicle until March 16th. I told **** that my intention was to buy the vehicle if everything were to be in order upon viewing. **** spoke with his manager, then informed me that the dealership does not hold vehicles or accept deposits, but that they were willing to allow me to purchase the Mazda without seeing it. I found this odd, and told him I would have to see it first. I then asked about finance rates, something I had already done the day prior. **** then explains to me that the dealerships rate is 9.99%, regardless of credit score. **** then told me that the dealership secured financing from its lenders for qualified buyers, then profits the remainder. For example, my credit score is 851; surely I would qualify for at least 7.99%. If that were the case, the dealership would then profit the additional 2% I would be paying. This to me is in bad faith an unacceptable. I explained that to ****, but said I would proceed with the deal. I then heard back from my insurance, giving me a fantastic rate. I secured outside financing from another lender for vehicle ***************** within minutes; at a significantly lower rate then the dealership had offered. I continued to hope that the vehicle would not sell by 9AM Saturday morning, when I was planning to go down. I called **** a third time, asking him to send me a quote just so I could see the numbers, tax, additional fees etc. **** had it emailed to me within minutes and I told him I just needed a number due to the fact that this would be a "cash sale" due to external financing. At 6:38PM I received a text from **** saying "Hey *****, I hate to send this text but I just found out. Unfortunately there was a mix up of vehicles in our system and the wrong price was put on quite a few of our vehicles including the Mazda". This way of doing business is unacceptable. Management had been spoken to, quotes had been sent, financing had been secured, and I had planned to take 8+ hours out of my Saturday to buy the CX-5. I have all the texts between **** and I, the quote that was emailed to me, and screen shots of the advertisement straight from the Holiday Ford website, and several other supporting documents. To have a dealership change the price from $29699 to $39999 1 business day prior to me showing up is unethical. OMVIC needs to step in and help. Thank you, ****** ********* ************
