Spent 27K on a building, roof leaks in 3 spots. When I asked about warranty, I was told too bad.Honorable way to treat a customer. Grab the cash, no more service.Would put zero stars if it was an option.Shame on you!West Coast Metal Buildings Inc Response

Dear ****,
We are truly sorry to hear that you are not happy with your structure. After reviewing the photos that you sent us it is clear that you have made major modifications to the building that we installed, a few are as followed Vapor barrier on the roof, constructed a inner-wall, as well as it seems you have ran electrical. This is far from the original state of the building that we installed, and when modification are done to the building it is common that those modifications can effect the integrity of the building it self, which can lead to leaks as in your instance. Once modifications are made to the building wcmb can not guarantee the integrity of the structure as it has been altered from the original state. Had this happened before any modification were made wcmb would have been happy to go and check for leaks and make any repairs necessary.

I work for a county building division in ******. West Coast Metal Buildings misleads customers about the overall cost for their metal structures which require a building permit (see State ***********************, ORSC or OSSC, for what type of buildings would be exempt from a building permit: https://www.******.gov/bcd/codes-stand/Pages/adopted-codes.aspx ). When you are required to obtain a building permit for these "pre-engineered, fabricated metal structures", you must submit plans and the engineering for the pre-fabricated structure. West Coast charges an insane amount of additional money just for the plans/engineering (one customer was quoted $2,000 for plans/engineering for his 12x30 standard open wall carport!!). The building code does not have a prescriptive engineering path for a company's "prefab, engineered buildings"--this is the whole point of the prefabrication of the structures they build: it's their engineering and it should be included with your purchase of pre-fab metal buildings. It shouldn't be an extra cost or they need to be transparent about what they are charging. Sadly, West Coast is not the only price ****** when it comes to withholding the prefab engineering from the cost of their structures - most of these companies do this. They like to blame the permitting requirement for plans/engineering on local government and that's really dismissing accountability. Please don't skip obtaining a building permit, if required, because it will be discovered/a complaint will come to the local jurisdiction and then it becomes a messy, costly code enforcement case. Be smart and inquire if engineering is included (and if a permit is required) before you buy one of these.Review from Daniel B

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND USE WEST COAST METAL BUILDINGS AGAIN.From working with my dealer, ****, to receiving a quote from ********** in the office - to watching my GORGEOUS and FUNCTIONAL custom 27' x 20' lean-to building being erected by Pio and Eligh and crew - I am absolutely thrilled with the can-do service and attention to detail I received.I have read many of the negative reviews and I was concerned, but I saw none of the problems others experienced. Did I have a few screws and small pieces of tin laying around after completion? Of course, I did. So I picked them up JUST like I would have if I had built it myself. In fact, the crew did do a great job of picking up, but hey. It was getting dark.My slab was not square - they worked with it and it's my job to add a little concrete now - but the fact remains that they explained the issue and they worked with me. I had a pool fence and container a little closer than optimal - and again they WORKED WITH ME.One thing I have learned over many years of servicing customers and being served is that kindness and a cheerful attitude are contagious. I am super proud of my new building and I would caution negative review readers against believing everything they read. These guys do ******* buildings a week and we all know most people only post negative reviews. I wish more satisfied customers would post positive one's, because West Coast Metal Buildings does fantastic work and makes a good product.Thank you.Review from Dan S

**************** is horrible. They never have done their job. Once they sell a building, they are done with the customer. These managers should quit making apologies and retrain the customer service ***** Looks like a bunch of family members hired on that are not even trying to help customer follow up . Once they sell a building you get the run around treatment. I went there in person, laid out my my needs and heard back nothing. I bought 2 buildings from them,I wish I would have supported a local bussiness that appreciates the customer at least enough to call them back. Obviously the money is in the building package because thats where the service stops.Review from James G

What an outfit. NOT RECOMMENDED. After installing my building with engineered plans "which of course cost more money" the building FAILED FINAL INSPECTION. Apparently, the crew that installed the rock anchors cut them off and instead of following the engineered plans used rebar as anchors as well. They too we cut off. The plans state that the rods should be 30 inches long with a welded nut at the top, driven into the ground and painted to prevent rust and or corrosion. The crew simply drove a piece of rebar into the ground bent the rebar over and cut it off. OMG. On 5 of the 11 rods used I was able to pull them out of the ground and they are a far cry from 30 inches long. One measured only 14 Inches. I am working with the company to resolve this issue but since they already have a great deal of the money they are dragging their feet and making up excuses. I have had to take pictures twice for the company, email them multiple times and I even emailed them a copy of the inspection report. I am very disappointed in this company and would not recommend them to ANYONE! My neighbor across the street from me also made a purchase from this company and he too very disappointed. 1 month after they installed his building he had a leak. He reported it to them, they said they would come take a look but never showed up. I tried to get them to look at it when they were her but that too did not work. Very, very bad follow up and customer service.West Coast Metal Buildings Inc Response

***, As this is an engineered building, any changes and/or modifications we make must be approved by the engineer. WCMB has sent a crew on 6/3/2021 to install the anchors per the engineered drawings and have resolved the issue in a timely manner as we had to confirm with our engineer which can take time. In regard to us not staying in contact with you about your issue I am slightly confused because we have had constant communication with you since a day after the install.Review from T. C.

I originally ordered a building and placed a down payment on Dec. 1, 2020. After the company reviewed the order it was necessary to change the length of the legs and as they could not reach me because they had transposed numbers in my phone number I waited a month before I got this message from the local salesperson. The original quote was mistakenly figured for a horizontal roof instead of vertical one which I explicitly asked. This raised the price of the project and I cancelled the order with the salesperson (Frank From FanAnna's Buildings). Later that day Frank contacted me and said that because he had made the mistake he would cover the additional charge. I commend Frank for this. The order was re written and I added insulation in the roof and wrote another check to cover the additional cost and given a hopeful delivery date mid Feb. I received an email on Jan. 22, 2021 that because of the covid protocols and shut downs and the holidays my order would not be delivered until the week of March 15th. Today is March 16th and I had not heard from the company so I called them and was told that my order had been canceled on Jan. 12. I did not cancel it and I'm extremely agitated that this company has been holding 80% of my deposit for over three and a half months and the other 20% for over a month. If the order had been canceled on the 12th of Jan. why was I sent an email on Jan. 22. If I could possible give the company less than 1 star I would. I will not receive a refund until the end of this month which further angers me. I did receive a partial refund of my down payment at the end of March but had to wait another three weeks for the final refund. I would love to hear this company's excuse or reasoning for their horrible business practices. DON'T USE THIS OUTFIT.West Coast Metal Buildings Inc Response

I understand your frustration and do apologize that your experiences with your dealer and us was not a good one. I'm also sorry that your refund was overlooked but it was sent out right away to your dealer once the oversight was caught. All refund are done in the form that we received payment. Because you had paid your dealer and your dealer mailed payment to West Coast Metal this did cause a delay in getting your refund in your hands. If you ever deiced to give us another chance, please feel free to contact us directly for a quote.Customer Response

5/3021 Don't try laying your poor business practices off on ***** from ******* *********. ***** made a mistake on the original order and in my mind he more than rectified it. It was your company that held on to my original deposit for four months. It was your company that never notified me that the order had been cancelled. It was your company that issued the first refund of my deposit and it is your company that still has not told me who or why my order had been cancelled. Needless to say I would never order anything from you
