I received a quote from Aaron for $8k to replace roof on a 3br/1ba 900 square ft home. In the quote also was that extra woodwork could be an additional charge. Now a good bit of the ceiling on the inside of the home was missing so you could see right into the rafters and everything. Once the job is complete Aaron hands me a invoice for $10,500 which is a 31% increase from the original quote and says he told me the final price could be higher than originally quoted. I understood that but how he could go up 31% has left me dumbfounded b/c like I said a good bit of the ceiling was missing on the inside so you could see exactly what needed to be done. They also charge me $125/ piece of wood when only cost them $45 per. They are absolutely price gouging people on a daily basis. they aren't using any special material or wood that other roofers aren't using. I have been trying to get this resolved for the last 2 months. Based on the original quote of $8000 and the final invoice of $10500 I offered to pay $9500 to close this out and both parties move on but all I get are crickets from them.
