Florida Air installed my AC unit thru my Warranty with *** ******** Company. They modified my unit at installation, noted it to *** ********. after 4 years it failed. The modification appears to have been deliberate to fail, and because of it voided my warranty. The technician that came out for service continually tried to hide the modification as if he knew about it. He stated a long and costly repair that I would have to pay for. *** ******** told me the unit should not have been modified it's their procedures to acquire a new replacement unit and not modify the unit. I was supposed to be contacted by the service manager over a week ago. We have not had air nor heat from over 4 weeks now because of their negligence. The modification almost looks like it was done to intentionally fail, voiding the warranty. The True suction like was cut, shortened, and resoldered, then forced up against the compressor lines with a piece of insulation stuffed behind it. the technician kept pulling the tubing out while I was trying to take a picture, then kept trying to dispose of the insulation. He took it out of my living room, i had to take it from him, then picked it up again in my kitchen, which then he tried to hide it in his pocket, then again outside by the unit, which he asked me if I wanted to speak to his manager, called him and walked away trying to put the insulation back in his pocket. He refused to let me talk to his manager. then he described it would take weeks to fix my unit and cost almost as much as a new unit. He also took out my remaining Freon and filled the unit with nitrogen. I have read several reviews of their questionable actions. I have consulted other AC contractors and they agreed that they should have not modified my unit on a warranty claim and should be responsible to replace my unit. It appalls me that I may have to seek legal assistance, miss work, spend money, drag a bunch of people in court because of their actions. They need to make it right.
