In January of 2022 our Samsung dishwasher flooded our kitchen causing our floors to warp. Samsung replaced the dishwasher and also wrote a check to cover the cost of repairs to our flooring, installed originally by Gene’s Floor Covering. Gene’s repaired the floors in April 2022. Immediately we noticed that the floors seemed to pop when walking, but our original floors took some time to settle so we decided to give the floors time to settle. In December 2022 we decided to reach out to Gene’s because the floors were not settling and began to get worse. Over the course of the next 8 months our floors have deteriorated to the point of becoming completely unattached at the seams. Genes sent out 2 people—the first in January of 2023 and the second in February of 2023. The original inspector mentioned that when floors that are floated have to be completely re done or they will eventually warp. We never received any information from the second inspector. After the second individual came to inspect the floors it became very difficult to contact Genes. We sent several emails that were never answered and when we did get an answer to an email or phone call they would say that they were “working towards a solution” but provided no path toward repair, details on a solution or timeframe. Finally, in May of 2023 they replied and said the floors would not be covered due to them failing a “moisture test”. We had no knowledge of the test and have yet to see the results of this test.
