Additional Information
  • On July 10, 2001, the Attorney General for the State of Michigan filed a counter complaint in the Circuit Court for the 22nd Judicial Circuit, Washtenaw County, alleging that Circuit City Stores' refusal to provide rain checks to consumers when advertised sale items were not available to purchase during the advertised sale period violated the Pricing and Advertising of Consumer Items Act and the Michigan Consumer Protection Act. Circuit City has responded that the company was found to be in compliance with applicable statutes and is continuing to work with Michigan authorities to resolve outstanding issues. The matter is pending.
