I first visited Alabama Psych Services (a.k.a Comprehensive MedPsych Systems) on 9-10-21, at which time I presented my insurance information. The insurance was verified and I paid my copay amount. Before the next visit, on 9-21-21, I met my out of pocket maximum on my insurance policy and informed the office staff at the time of services. They "looked it up" and affirmed that I owed nothing. The same situation took place at subsequent visits on 10-12-21, 11-02-21, and 12-09-21. On April 4, 2022, I received a statement, showing full charges for those visits. I contacted my insurance company to see if claims had been filed and they had not. I contacted the company via phone and email numerous times (details can be provided), giving the information requested each time (photos of insurance card, dates of service, etc). I received another statement yesterday, with the same amount due - over $800. I tried calling the phone number on the bill but it shows up on caller ID as "Adoption Assistance" in Tyler, TX, rather than Refresh Billing Department (as listed on the statement). I therefore did not complete that phone call, as I had no confidence that I would be speaking with the actual medical billing department when I shared personal information. This company has not followed typical due diligence processes and is now billing me for their mistakes. Can you help me resolve this situation? I can provide MUCH detailed information if necessary.
