Better Business Bureau Serving North Central Texas expresses its sincere congratulations to all of the finalists and winners of its inaugural Torch Award for Ethics event, hosted on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dallas, Texas.
BBB|NCTX partnered with Dallas Business Journal to bring the prestigious event to Dallas in 2017. “We enjoyed working with DBJ on the project,” said Phylissia Clark, VP of Public Relations and Communications for BBB|NCTX. “We appreciate DBJ’s focus on current trends in our market. The ceremony was a great success. And, we are proud that so many North Texas businesses continue to demonstrate a commitment to ethics.” The finalists and winners are featured in Dallas Business Journal publications in print and online.
The award was created by the BBB Institute for Marketplace Trust, the educational foundation of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, in 1996. For over 20 years, the Torch Award has recognized and celebrated businesses that demonstrate a commitment to ethical practices and social responsibility in corporate leadership, communications, and management. The award is offered locally throughout North America, by individual BBB offices. Local winners who operate for-profit businesses go on to compete for the International Torch Award, presented by the Council of Better Business Bureaus.
After rigorous review of numerous entries, eighteen finalists and one non-profit winner, from a diverse array of industries, were selected for recognition. Five of these finalists, and one non-profit business, received the BBB Torch Award for Ethics during an awards luncheon.
“We sought to honor businesses in our service area that deeply care about honesty and transparency and strive to exemplify a higher standard,” said Jay Newman, President and C.E.O of BBB|NCTX. “We sincerely congratulate all of the winners and finalists.”
