****** came to my home to euthanize my 15 year-old cat who had been going down hill for some time. She was very kind and professional and took charge which at first gave me confidence. When we spoke on the phone and then in person I asked her how and where the drugs would be given. She said the first would be sub-Q and the second intravenous. I recall repeating this question when she was preparing. I had my cat on my lap and she gave the sedative. He jumped down and she stopped me when I started to go after him saying it would take about 10 minutes and would I tell her stories about him. After several minutes I found him passed out in the hall just steps away and struggling to breath. I put him back on my lap while she appeared to be going through the motions of looking for a place to give the injection. Then she said she would have to give it directly in the heart and quickly did it before I could react. At that point I just wanted his distress to end so there was nothing else to do. I believe ***** was not honest or forthcoming about the possibility of a cardiac injection which I did not want. And by trying to distract me my cat lost consciousness without me which is also not what I wanted. In trying to save him the distress of a last trip to our vet I inadvertently caused both of us more distress and pain. I would never use this vet again.
