Maez Construction put a new roof on my home before closing on the house. I specifically chose them because they were going to put a taper system on my flat roof. The taper system was in the contract, but they chose not to put it on. On April 28, 2021,hree days after moving in, it rained in my home. Maez Construction avoided responsibility and in the process did a water test on my roof and flooded my home even worse than the original leaking. They finally put a taper system and new TPO on my roof on June 10, 2021. They did not remove the first roof they installed, trapping the water in my ceilings. When Maez Construction sent someone to do the interior repairs, significant mold was found. After opening up the ceiling my home wreaked of mold. I told them that we needed mold remediation experts to take care of it. Maez Construction has refused to cooperate. When I had a mold remediation company out to do an inspection and give an estimate on July 6th, there was still moisture in my ceilings. I had mold testing and an environmental analysis completed. I shared all these results with Maez Construction along with a demand letter from my attorney. Maez Construction has not responded. I would like to avoid filing a legal claim. I am hoping that you can help by encouraging Maez Construction to file an insurance claim to cover my losses. Please find the Environmental analysis and the letter from my attorney attached.
