Horrible service and business practice. Rented out a place infested with roaches and had the audacity to charge the break lease fee when I refused the live in an infestation. I left the place immaculate. Pitiful business practices! Stay clear of this agency!

To the public, every story has two sides. When we rented this unit to the tenant we had never had any issues with roaches or an infestation. Upon hearing of the complaint I went to the house with the tenants mothers permission and I did find one dead ***** in the bathroom, that is all. We have had more than average rains here this year in our area, which could account for more people saying they have had roaches and other bugs. Also I was told they had had the house sprayed by an exterminator and the owner offered to pay for it. We did charge him a break lease fee because he signed a lease stating if he chose to break the lease and leave early for any reason he would be charged. Since the time the tenant has moved out I went over to the house at different times and have yet to see an infestation of bugs of any kind. Could it be possible the tenant brought some roaches in with all the moving cardboard boxes he brought in, possible but we can not say for sure. I just know in 14 years of managing this property we have never had issues. He was only charged a minimum cleaning fee upon moving out as it is a fully furnished house and the bedding had to be washed and given a basic cleaning.

Indeed there are two sides to every story. The leasing agent's side and the photographic and video evidence of numerous roaches in the residence that I have. There is no possibility that the cockroaches were brought in from boxes. Clear ********************** were packed the morning of the move from a luxury apartment in ******, **. The entire time I resided in ******, I never saw a cockroach outside, much less within my apartment. The containers with my items were loaded up and brought to the rental in Artesia the same day. I would expect that the leasing agent would not see roaches just walking through the rental, however, if she were to stay for a period of a few hours, she would say otherwise. It was such a problem that I stayed nine nights in a hotel. I spent nearly $100 in exterminating products and items to seal the many possible entry points. I contacted an exterminator immediately. The owner offered to pay, and she should, considering it is her property. It amazes me that although cockroaches seem to be a problem from rainfall, that I never saw one in my hotel room that was less than 0.2 of a mile from my rental property. Nor did I see any at my work, stores or restaurants. Yes, a cleaning fee was charged, however, the place was left in a cleaner state than upon my arrival. Sheets were washed and folded on the bed. There is also evidence that the owner of the property entered the property on at least five occasions without any notification. The owner would enter and turn off the a/c unit, and often adjust the thermostat. She violated the terms of the lease, and this is illegal. However, I paid the "break lease fee" and allowed her to keep the entire rent with no resistance. I have nothing to gain by falsifying any information. However, making the mistake of renting this property has cost me thousands of dollars. On more than one of these occasions, she would leave the door unlock with my items left unsecured in the property. RENTERS BEWARE. I'm perplexed that a leasing agent would defend these non-professional practices. The sole purpose of this review if to prevent anyone else from falling victim to this unprofessional business.
