The sad fact is that distracted driving contributed to an 8 percent increase in NJ traffic fatalities in 2016. To protect the motorists and pedestrians New Jersey Attorney General Christopher Porrino and the Division of Highway Safety are announcing a rebranded program Call #77.
Previously used for reporting aggressive driving, the #77 now will include unsafe cell phone use like talking or texting while driving. In addition, a warning letter is designed to be sent to the offending drivers. Warning Letter to Motorists will be one of the first in the country.
