After having to leave the Capri Inn due to a shortage in rooms, we moved here to the Victorian inn and checked in for a week. All seemed well at first. Learned fast that you have to chase down clean towels when needed, as unlike most places they don’t leave new ones outside when they pick up your dirty. Oh well, no biggie. Breakfast runs later than Capri, and has waffles, so I can live with that. Problem wasn’t until day 6, when a lady knocked on the door at 8:30 am and practically demanded to search or check our room for cleanliness. With no call or warning of any kind. I opened the door as wide it would go to let her look, and may have even obliged her coming in if my well house trained 3 year old 90 lb pit wasn’t barking and being held back by my teen. She says we are good and leaves, so I close my door. I call to ask to speak to a manager and learn that she is the manager. I tell her how unprofessional and intrusive I think it was and that a much more appropriate way to do it would be to call and let me know so that we can set a good time for me to leave with my dog. No apologies from her, nothing, just gas lighting that I was the problem making a big deal of nothing. The next day when I had to leave for a couple hours, someone even tried opening our door and coming in, I believe not knowing my son and dog were here. Once they saw his leg start to get up they said “oh good morning “ and quickly retreated. Sketch for sure. Last straw was yesterday when I attempted to pay for another week and was told I must pay another $100 pet deposit and that it was mandatory by a different employee. I called and asked manager who made excuses about having to shampoo carpets after each pet, so it had to be paid each week, but supposedly if I let her come check my room we wouldn’t have to pay it again. Make it make sense. Do not come here, go to the Holiday Inn or MyPlace, or if on budget the Capri if you like your privacy.
