In reaching this conclusion, the Better Business Bureau considered the fact that 85% of the organization's total income is spent on program services. October 20, 1999 BACKGROUND AND ACTIVITIES: The Tabitha Foundation was established and incorporated January, 1981 as a non-profit organization. Tabitha Health Care Services, in existence since 1886, is the sole beneficiary of the Foundation's fund-raising efforts. Tabitha Health Care Services provides substantial charity care to the community through: Case Management Rehabilitation services Housing Home Health services Hospice Nursing Home Meals on Wheels Pastoral Care services The Tabitha Foundation owns three for-profit corporations: Broadview Corporation, Home Care Specialties of Tabitha and Tabitha Housing Corporation. These corporations do not receive donated funds. GOVERNANCE AND STAFF: The Tabitha Foundation is governed by a 12 member Board of Directors which met quarterly last year with an average attendance of 9. Officers include: A. W. Sward, President; Jam Thayer, Chair; Roland Luedtke, Vice Chair; and Dale Niebuhr, Secretary/Treasurer. There are 2.5 paid staff employees and 6 Volunteers. The Board of Directors and Officers have control over the organization's programs and budget.
