Steammatic was hired to clean my carpets, my ducts, and replace poly / enclose my crawlspace with vapor barrier and humidifier. I paid alot of money and trusted this company. After moving in , thanks to my pest company, I was informed my crawlspace was not sealed and the poly under my house was tearing, and the dehumidifier was plugged into an outside exposed outlet. I contacted the owner who told me " this has to be completely redone ". Six months later, and many excuses/ cancellations to fix the problem... it still was not done. Today I had an inspection of the ducts done, and the pictures show layers of dust, urine from prior owners dogs, and who knows what else Ive been breathing. I was told " no one cleaned these ducts". The carpet wasn't cleaned either. All dirt, insects, etc. were pushed to the edges. I am writing this so others will not be scammed and horrified the way I was. All these services now have to redone... and I cannot afford legal representation. Please don't take chances and be lured in by any deals. Its so sad there are such dishonest companies.

The local franchise at Steamatic of Nashville is a disgrace to the national brand name. This local franchise was recommended to us to do a partial encapsulation of a crawlspace. They were totally focused on scamming us verses providing a quality product and customer satisfaction. My husband and I contracted with this franchise in a home owned by us and rented by our daughter. They failed miserably to provide the vapor barrier of 10 ML poly, taped 2" around all walls with a dehumidifier and seal the vents. The quality of the product and work was substandard at best, the poly was 10ML only directly in front of the crawlspace door- the rest was the cheapest poly you can buy and was torn and not taped up the wall as directed. When contacted about this the owner replied he would "make it right"..it took three weeks before he would come to observe what had been done, which he admitted would need to be "completely done over". It took a month to get on the schedule, and then the job was rescheduled three times for a period of 6 months. Finally after five months of seeing no progress, we contacted the cooperate office. We received a check for ONLY the labor cost. How disappointing that a national company would not do what is ethical and right. The men they hire are not properly vetted as one of the workers sent a suggestive text and picture to our daughter, which was grossly unprofessional and caused her to feel very unsafe in her new home. This employee was later fired because , per the owner, "he could not pass the background check". Please do not be scammed as we were - you are better off with a local crawlspace specific company who will value their reputation and take pride in their work. *********************
